Unsterblicher Bergmann

The Immortal Miner is a neutral hostile from the Immortals that roams Romulan border systems between levels 50 and 59. It spawns as an Explorer, an Interceptor, or a Survey ship, so the class you bring depends on which variant you tap. Killing one pays Federation and Klingon reputation while costing you Romulan standing. Match its hull with the ship that counters it and it goes down fast. The Immortals are an in-game hostile group tied to Romulan space rather than a species from the shows, so there is no separate canon backstory to read into them.

How to beat the Immortal Miner

The Immortal Miner appears as three hull types, so the fight starts with picking the right ship. STFC combat runs on a simple triangle: Interceptors beat Battleships, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors. Survey ships barely fight, so they lose to everything. Map that to this hostile. Against the Interceptor variant, bring an Explorer. Against the Explorer variant, bring a Battleship. Against the Survey variant, bring any combat ship you like, since it puts up little resistance. You can read the hull type from the target before you attack, so scout the node and load the matching ship instead of hoping your all-rounder holds up.

Two ship abilities stay active the whole fight. Revolutionary Spirit raises the Immortal Miner’s critical hit damage for the first five rounds, and it scales with level: 30% at levels 50 to 52, 60% at 53 to 55, and 100% at 56 to 59. Its early crits land hardest, so carry mitigation for the opening rounds or end the fight quickly with burst damage. At levels 53 to 55 it also runs Interceptor Exploitation, which adds 75% damage against Interceptors for the first five rounds. In that band, keep Interceptors out of the fight and use the Explorer you would bring against the Interceptor variant anyway.

For crew, put a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles in the captain’s chair, then fill the bridge with officers that add damage or mitigation. A cadet crew is too weak this deep, so check the current picks on the Officer Tier List. Crews move with the meta, so treat any single lineup as a starting point rather than a fixed answer.

Where to find the Immortal Miner

The Immortal Miner clusters in Romulan border systems and needs at least warp 185 to reach the lowest spawns. The lower levels spread across many systems, which gives you room to pick a quiet spot for a repeat run, while the level 56 to 59 spawns thin out to a handful of deeper systems that need warp 255 and up. If you are farming the same node over and over, the level 53 and 54 bands offer the widest choice of systems.

Ebene Warp Systeme
50 185 Cortázar, Horgi, Magnus, Timvir, van Vlerken
51–52 185 Cortázar, Horgi, Magnus, Mons Mortis, Necrocormeum, Timvir, van Vlerken

Rewards and what it drops

The Immortal Miner is a reputation target, not a parts farm. Each kill pays Federation and Klingon reputation while docking your Romulan standing, so grind it when you want to raise Federation or Klingon faction and do not mind losing ground with the Romulans. That trade makes it a clean way to build the two factions you want without touching missions, as long as your Romulan standing has room to fall. Ship XP scales with level, from 3,000 at level 50 to 10,822 at level 59.

Ablegen What it is
Federation Points Federation reputation, added to your Federation standing
Klingon Points Klingon reputation, added to your Klingon standing
Romulan Points Romulan reputation, but a loss here: each kill lowers your Romulan standing

Immortal Miner stats

Stats vary by hull variant and climb steeply with level, so treat these as anchor points rather than fixed numbers.

Immortal Miner firing pattern

The Immortal Miner carries one energy weapon and one kinetic weapon. The energy weapon fires every round for steady pressure, while the kinetic weapon fires every other round but hits for roughly twice as much, so time your mitigation for the rounds the kinetic gun comes online. Both weapons crit at 10% for 1.8 times damage.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energie 1 598,801–731,872 Every round 10% (1.8x)
Kinetic 1 1,197,602–1,463,744 Every other round 10% (1.8x)

Is the Immortal Miner worth grinding?

The Immortal Miner earns its keep as a reputation grind. If you are pushing Federation or Klingon standing in the level 50 to 59 range, it pays well, and the Survey variant gives an easy kill when you just want ship XP. The catch is the Romulan reputation you lose on every hit, so skip it while you are working Romulan faction. Match your warp to the level you want, bring the hull that counters the variant in front of you, and keep the fights short.
