IDIQ 4: No Plan Survives First Contact opens the No Plan Survives Erster Kontakt story in the IDIQ series, and the game lists it as Part 1. The recommended level is 61, the mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 320 to complete, and every objective is in Assimilated Sol or Assimilated Sirius. Rewards include 3,525,000,000 Tritanium and 36,000 6★ Broken Battleship Parts. Expect three fights and a long trip.

IDIQ 4: No Plan Survives First Contact Part 1

The story line is to assist Q Junior in his attempt to rid the Universe of the Borg. Reports of galactic anomalies along the Hilltara sector border lead you through an anomaly into the aftermath of the Conqueror Borg invasion, where the Resistance and the Enterprise-E crew are fighting to reclaim the galaxy.

  • Follow Q Junior, in Assimilated Sol.
  • Meet with the Enterprise-E crew, in Assimilated Sol.
  • Delay the Borg forces, in Assimilated Sol (enemy strength ~2,113,383,600).
  • Find the missing crew, in Assimilated Sirius.
  • Win some time while Q Junior searches for the correct Picard, in Assimilated Sirius (enemy strength ~2,222,048,490).
  • Protect the crew from the Borg Cube, in Assimilated Sirius (enemy strength ~2,113,383,600).

Your officer talks Q Junior out of simply erasing the Borg, and the Resistance asks you to hold off Collective forces that are about to flank them. Q Junior then tries his own fix anyway and sends every current and former drone to another galaxy, Picard included. He snaps them back, but the Enterprise-E lands in Assimilated Sirius and the Picard aboard is the wrong one. While Q Junior works through a series of alternate Picards, you fight off the Borg vessels trying to exploit the confusion, finishing with a Borg Cube. There is no choice split. Warp to complete: 320.

Rewards: 400 Replicator Rations, 3,525,000,000 Tritanium, 36,000 6★ Broken Battleship Parts, 108,000 Raw Σ-Dilithium.

Finishing this mission unlocks IDIQ 5: No Plan Survives First Contact, where Q Junior tries a new plan in Ana’Wi.

Tips for completing IDIQ 4: No Plan Survives First Contact

Warp 320 is the first thing to check. Both Assimilated systems are far from home, so make sure the ship you plan to fight with can make the trip before you start.

All three fights sit in a narrow band. The first Borg force and the Borg-Würfel at the end are listed at about 2.11 billion strength, and the middle fight while Q Junior searches for Picard is the toughest at about 2.22 billion. The last two happen back to back in Assimilated Sirius, so repair before you leave Sol if you can.

There are no resource payments in this mission, but IDIQ 5 asks for 10B Parsteel, so start setting that aside now.

Are the IDIQ 4: No Plan Survives First Contact rewards worth it?

Yes. The 36,000 6★ Broken Battleship Parts and 108,000 Raw Σ-Dilithium are useful late-game materials, and 3.5 billion Tritanium plus 400 Replicator Rations fill out the list. The cost is travel time and three fights you would need to clear anyway to reach the Cat Spock shards at the end of the story. For more level 61 content, see the STFC mission guide.
