IDIC 7: Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before

IDIC 7: Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before opens the three-mission Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before story in the IDIC series, and in-game it is listed as Part 1. Q drops you into a universe where Earth and the Starfleet fleet yards are run by cats, and Dr McCoy recruits you to help find a missing Spock. The game lists a recommended level of 61, the mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 40 to complete, and all of it takes place in Sol. Rewards include 165,000 Officer XP and 52,000 6★ Broken Interceptor Parts. It is a short mission with one fight and one Dilithium payment.

IDIC 7: Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before Part 1

The story line asks you to find out about the new IDIC challenge Q has set for you. Scans of Earth and Mars turn up no humanoids at all, and the local Föderation Patrol does not take kindly to your arrival.

  • Discover what universe this is, in Sol.
  • Search for humanoids on Mars, in Sol.
  • Defend yourself against the cats, in Sol (enemy strength ~2,222,048,490).
  • Report to Starbase 1, in Sol.
  • Appease Starfleet with 690M Dilithium.

You scan Earth, check the fleet yards on Mars and then fight off a territorial Federation Patrol listed at about 2.2 billion strength. Dr McCoy then calls you to Starbase 1, where the mission closes with a 690M Dilithium payment to smooth over the attack. There is no choice split. Warp to complete: 40.

Rewards: 52,000 6★ Broken Interceptor Parts, 1 10K Σ-Parsteel Token, 165,000 Officer XP, 1,000 Refined Isogenite.

Finishing this mission opens IDIC 8: Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before, where the search for Spock begins.

Tips for completing IDIC 7: Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before

Every objective is in Sol, so once you arrive you can stay put. The only fight is against the cat patrol at roughly 2,222,048,490 strength, which is the third objective, so bring a repaired combat ship rather than a survey ship.

Have 690M Dilithium ready for the last step. It is the only cost in the mission, and it also shows up again in IDIC 5 if you are still working through Darmok Amok.

The 165,000 Officer XP is the headline reward. If you have Offiziere close to a level threshold, this is a good mission to run before you spend XP elsewhere.

Are the IDIC 7: Where No Cat Hasn’t Gone Before rewards worth it?

Yes. For one fight and a Dilithium payment you get 165,000 Officer XP, 52,000 6★ Broken Interceptor Parts, a 10K Σ-Parsteel Token and 1,000 Refined Isogenite. It also unlocks the rest of the cat story. For more IDIC and Origin Sector content, see the Origin Sector arc und die STFC mission guide.
