Hot Cargo is a level 70 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which Brem of the Ferengi Consortium hires you to carry a shipment past an Orion blockade. You pick it up in Alvolea, and warp 1,550 is enough to start and to finish. Near the end you choose whether to deliver the cargo or keep it, and each choice leads to one fight at about 3.3 to 3.4 trillion strength. Both pay the same: 26,000 Σ-Parsteel, 7,000 Σ-Tritanium and 90 15 Minute Σ-Repair Speed Ups.
Hot Cargo objectives
Brem says there is time-sensitive business elsewhere, so you are asked to take the cargo to Oraalen through the Crossroads, where the Orions are stopping traders. The shared steps are:
- Proceed to Crossroads.
- Talk your way through the blockade in Crossroads.
- Proceed to the meeting point in Oraalen.
- Decide what to do.
At the blockade, the Orion Tasim asks about Ferengi ships, and Maia claims the cargo is supplies for a Thalloran encampment. At the drop point Maia works out that the goods were stolen from the Orions, and that the blockade was set up to catch the Ferengi.
Deliver the cargo as promised
- Leave the cargo at the drop-point in Oraalen.
- Defeat the Orion vessel in Oraalen (enemy strength ~3,423,395,691,968).
Tasim followed you from the blockade and attacks once the goods are down. Brem turns out to have trailed you too, slipping through while the Orion was busy, and pays you as agreed.
Keep the cargo for ourselves
- Find a fence in Ro’Antcha.
- Defeat the Ferengi vessel in Ro’Antcha (enemy strength ~3,311,153,658,157).
You head for the trade station in Ro’Antcha to sell the goods, but Brem finds you there first and tries to take the cargo back. After you disable his ship, Brem lets it go this time but warns you not to cross the Consortium again.

The mission is picked up in Alvolea and needs warp 1,550 both to start and to complete. The route runs through the Crossroads to Oraalen, and the keep-the-cargo path adds a stop in Ro’Antcha. The recommended level is 70.

Hot Cargo ends in Oraalen, which is where Pay It Forward is picked up, and Pay It Forward sends you back to Alvolea. The two pair neatly in one session.
Tips
Pick the path for the story, not the loot. The rewards match, and the two fights differ by only about 0.1 trillion strength, so the Ferengi ship on the keep-the-cargo path is marginally the lighter one.
The delivery path stays in Oraalen for its fight, while keeping the cargo sends you on to Ro’Antcha. If you want the shortest run, deliver.
The 90 Σ-Repair Speed Ups total 22 and a half hours of repair time, which is the most useful part of a small payout. There is no Fraktionsruf change, so this is safe for neutral players.
