The Hegh’ta is a grade 4 Epic Klingon Interceptor that unlocks at Shipyard level 50. It is a combat ship built for aggression: its Open the Wound ability stacks critical hit chance against a breached enemy, and it can equip a cloak plus a player-versus-player damage refit. If you run Klingon interceptors, it slots in as a hard-hitting pack fighter that stays useful until you move past grade 4.
How to get the Hegh’ta
Building the Hegh’ta takes 650 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 50, plus the grade 4 ship research. Klingon players collect the blueprints through Klingonenfraktion progression, so reputation grinding and the faction store are the usual channels.
Once you have the blueprints, the first build costs 275,000,000 Tritanium, 12,000,000 Dilithium, 3,150 4-star Common Refined Gas, and 9,000 4-star Common Refined Crystal. The build timer runs 250 days at base, before any construction-speed research or boosts. The ship scraps from Betrieb level 57, so it can feed a scrapyard once it has served its purpose.
Hegh’ta ability
The Hegh’ta’s ship ability is Open the Wound. While the target has a Hull Breach, every weapon hit from the Hegh’ta raises its Critical Hit Chance. That bonus is 2% per hit at ship level 1 and climbs to 20% per hit at level 60. Like all ship abilities, it stays active with no button to press.
In practice this rewards sustained fire: once something applies a Hull Breach, each round of kinetic shots pushes your crit chance higher, so the longer the fight runs the harder the Hegh’ta lands. It works best when your crew or a fleetmate can open a breach early.
Hegh’ta active ability
The Hegh’ta can also equip Ship Cloaking, a player-triggered ability rather than an always-on one. When cloaked, the ship hides until the cloak’s duration runs out, you enter combat, you begin mining, or you dock at a station. Klingon captains use it to reposition, avoid a fight they cannot win, or line up a first strike before decloaking. Cloaking is unlocked through a refit, covered below.
Stats and tiers
These are base values from the current game Daten. Research, buffs, and Offiziere raise them in play. The Hegh’ta reaches tier 12 and level 60.
| Ebene | Warp (speed / range) | Impulse | Cargo (protected) | Shield HP | Hull HP | Health (displayed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3.9 / 180 | 98 | 100,000 (2,500) | 526,654 | 644,107 | 585,381 |
| 6 | 4.4 / 215 | 98 | 100,000 (2,500) | 873,408 | 1,067,319 | 970,364 |
| 12 | 5.0 / 295 | 98 | 100,000 (2,500) | 1,420,370 | 1,734,440 | 1,577,405 |
Health (displayed) is the shield and hull average the game shows on the ship card.
Weapons and firing pattern
Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is the number of rounds between shots after that. All four of the Hegh’ta’s weapons are kinetic cannons, which is what Open the Wound feeds off. Values below are at max tier 12.
| Waffe | Typ | Shots | Warm-up | Cool-down | Damage | Crit chance | Crit damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Waffe 1 | Kinetic | 3 | 1 | 2 | 59,176–71,009 | 10% | 175% |
| Waffe 2 | Kinetic | 3 | 2 | 2 | 59,176–71,009 | 10% | 175% |
| Waffe 3 | Kinetic | 5 | 2 | 3 | 79,885–87,876 | 10% | 200% |
| Waffe 4 | Kinetic | 5 | 3 | 3 | 79,885–87,876 | 10% | 200% |
Weapons 3 and 4 are the heavy hitters, firing five shots at 200% critical damage, so they benefit most as Open the Wound raises your crit chance across a long fight.
Crew slots and officer bonus
The Hegh’ta opens officer slots as it levels up, reaching a full seven-officer bridge at ship level 55.
| Ship level | Officer slots |
|---|---|
| 5 | 1 |
| 10 | 2 |
| 20 | 3 |
| 30 | 4 |
| 40 | 5 |
| 45 | 6 |
| 55 | 7 |
The ship also boosts your officers’ stats as it progresses. On the Hegh’ta the attack, defense, and health bonuses are identical, stepping up the ladder below as you invest more into the ship.
| Amount | Bonus (attack / defense / health) |
|---|---|
| 1,500 | 50% |
| 3,000 | 100% |
| 4,875 | 150% |
| 6,750 | 200% |
| 9,000 | 250% |
| 12,000 | 300% |
| 16,500 | 350% |
| 22,500 | 400% |
| 30,000 | 450% |
| 45,000 | 500% |
Hegh’ta refits
The Hegh’ta has three refits, each unlocked with ship shards. Two of them turn on abilities the base ship does not have, and the third applies a classic skin with its own combat bonus.
| Nachrüstung | What it does |
|---|---|
| Hegh’ta Cloaking | Enables the ship’s cloak. Costs 120 shards to unlock. |
| Hegh’ta Lethal Force | Unlocks Lethal Force, which increases critical hit damage against players by 125%. Requires a level 50 Armory and 120 shards. |
| Hijacked TOS Hegh’ta (TOS D7 skin) | Applies the hijacked TOS D7 skin, which adds 100% weapon damage against hostiles. Costs 80 shards to unlock. |
The Lethal Force refit is what makes the Hegh’ta a player-versus-player threat, while the TOS D7 skin points it at hostiles instead. Which one you chase depends on whether you fight players or grind PvE targets.
Crew for the Hegh’ta
Because Open the Wound only pays off once the enemy has a Hull Breach, the Hegh’ta wants a bridge that applies a breach and then leans into kinetic weapon damage and critical hits. A captain who boosts critical hit chance or damage, paired with officers that trigger or extend a Hull Breach, lets the ability ramp faster. For PvP with the Lethal Force refit, weight the crew toward critical hit damage.
Specific picks shift with the meta, so check the Officer Tier List for current recommendations before you commit officer XP.

The Hegh’ta in Star Trek
The Hegh’ta is a Klingon Bird-of-Prey. In Star Trek: The Next Generation, the IKS Hegh’ta was commanded by Kurn, Worf’s brother, during the Klingon civil war in the two-part story “Redemption.” In the game its design leans into intimidation: the aggressively angled wing pylons echo Klingon battle armor, and the ship is written as a pack fighter that forms the core of a strong Klingon fleet. That pack identity carries into how it plays, where several Hegh’ta hulls hitting the same target let their crit-stacking abilities compound.

Is the Hegh’ta worth it?
For a grade 4 Epic interceptor, the Hegh’ta earns its spot if you play Klingon and enjoy aggressive combat. The cloak gives it utility, the Lethal Force refit makes it dangerous against players, and Open the Wound rewards drawn-out fights. It will not keep pace with grade 5 and 6 hulls forever, but it scraps cleanly at Operations 57, so the investment is not wasted once you outgrow it.
