The B’Chor is a grade 4 Rare Klingon survey ship, the Empire’s dedicated crystal miner. It unlocks at Shipyard level 41 and exists to pull crystal fast: its Crystal Mining Laser raises your crystal mining rate by 120% at level 1 and up to 500% at level 60. If you run a Klingon economy and want protected cargo plus a strong crystal boost, the B’Chor pays for its dock.

How to get the B’Chor

The B’Chor needs 150 blueprints. These blueprints have appeared in the Klingonenfraktion store, where you buy them with faction credits once you reach Respected reputation with the Klingons. Building it also requires the grade 4 ship research and a Shipyard at level 41.

The build cost is 17,500,000 Tritanium, 1,400,000 Dilithium, 2,100 4★ Common Refined Gas, and 6,000 4★ Common Refined Crystal. Construction takes 85 days, so start it early and let it run in the background while you play.

B’Chor ability

The ship’s passive ability is Crystal Mining Laser. It increases your crystal mining rate by 120% at ship level 1 and scales up to 500% at level 60. Ship abilities are always active, so the bonus applies the moment you send the B’Chor to a crystal node. On a strong crystal moon this cuts a mining trip that would take an ordinary hauler most of an hour down to a fraction of the time, which is the whole reason to build it.

B’Chor active ability

The B’Chor also has a player-triggered ability called Automated Defenses. When it is active, the ship’s combat effectiveness rises sharply while it is attached to a mining node. You turn it on yourself, and it runs on a cooldown that shortens as the ship tiers up. It does not make the B’Chor a warship, but it gives a miner some teeth if a raider jumps you mid-node, buying time for backup or a getaway.

Stats and tiers

These are base values from the current game data; research, buffs, and Offiziere raise them in play. The table shows the three anchor tiers.

Ebene Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
1 3 / 75 68 800,000 (8,200) 12,620 25,820 19,220
6 3.8 / 125 68 1,140,000 (16,500) 38,510 78,800 58,655
12 4.8 / 230 68 1,750,000 (45,000) 146,920 300,580 223,750

Note the protected cargo: at tier 12 the B’Chor shields 45,000 units of your haul, so a successful raid on it still leaves most of your crystal safe.

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is how many rounds pass between shots after that. As a survey ship the B’Chor carries a single energy weapon for self-defense, not for hunting.

Waffe Typ Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Lichtunterbrecher Energie 1 1 1 33,004–40,338 10% 150%

The ship also boosts your officers’ stats as it progresses. On the B’Chor the attack, defense, and health bonuses are identical at every step, climbing the ladder below.

B’Chor refits

The B’Chor has two refits you unlock with shards, plus a cosmetic skin that changes what it mines.

Nachrüstung What it does
B’Chor Refit A standard ship refit for the B’Chor. Costs 80 shards to unlock.
B’Chor Auto Defense Unlocks the Automated Defenses ability. While it is active, the survey gains a large jump in combat power against other players while sitting on a mining node. Costs 120 shards to unlock.

A ship skin is also available that retunes the B’Chor to mine gas instead, raising its gas mining rate by 200%. That turns the same hull into a gas hauler when your economy needs raw gas more than crystal.

Crew for the B’Chor

Crew a miner for what a miner does, not for combat. The seats want officers who raise mining speed, add protected cargo, or reduce mining protection so a raid takes less from you; a captain whose ability leans into mining yield or node safety fits best. Because the strongest picks shift with the meta and with which officers you have leveled, check the Officer Tier List for current mining crews rather than locking into one setup. Crews change as new officers arrive.

The B’Chor in Star Trek

The B’Chor is a game-original Klingon design; it does not appear in any Star Trek film or series. In the game’s own story the Empire built it to guard its mining operations as tensions rose, dismissing what it called Föderation trickery and Romulan cowardice. The ship is described as a gargantuan vessel with fourteen compartmentalized cargo holds, each wrapped in a seven-inch Tritanium hull, meant to keep mining while lesser ships flee at the first sign of danger. It fits the Klingon theme of turning even an economic tool into something built to stand and fight.

Is the B’Chor worth it?

For a Klingon-aligned player at Shipyard 41 and up, yes. It is the Empire’s crystal specialist, and the Crystal Mining Laser plus a healthy protected-cargo pool make it a reliable crystal engine through the grade 4 band. It becomes scrappable from Operations level 53, so once you outgrow it you can break it down for parts rather than leaving it idle. Skip it only if you have no need for crystal or you are not building toward Klingon reputation.
