Footprints is a single mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you follow a trail of clues to track down an elusive criminal. It needs warp 19 to start and to finish, and it can be picked up in any of seven systems, including Bazamex. The trail runs through Deneva, Rigel and Zaurak, ending in a fight with Vigik at about 40,000 strength. The only reward is 376,000 Parsteel, which is a large Parsteel payout for a mission at this warp.
Footprints objectives

- Find the source of the transmission at Zaurak. Location: Zaurak.
- Defeat Vigik. Location: Zaurak. Enemy strength is roughly 39,874.

The first three steps are the investigation, each in a different system. The signal starts in Deneva, leads to Rigel, and the transmission’s source turns out to be in Zaurak. Vigik is waiting there, and beating him is the only fight. After that, head home to collect the reward.

Footprints needs warp 19 to start and warp 19 to complete. It can be picked up in any of these systems: Loiat, Vosak, Nipaj, Metea, Bazamex, Loaiy and Wauoxic.
Because the warp to start and the warp to complete are both 19, a ship that can reach any of the pickup systems already has the range for Deneva, Rigel and Zaurak. There is no bigger jump later in the mission.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. Vigik at about 39,874 strength is the fight to prepare for, and the rest is travel.

Footprints and Miscommunications each have one named fight at a similar strength, but Footprints pays almost four times the Parsteel.
Tips
Bring a combat ship. The first three steps are travel, but Vigik is a real fight at nearly 40,000 strength, and he comes straight after you find the transmission source.
Pick it up alongside the others. Because the same seven systems offer all of these missions, one visit can load up several jobs at once.
Put the Parsteel into building upgrades. At 376,000, it covers a good share of mid-game costs.
