Escalation is the name of two missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. The early one is a level 6 rescue in the Hosun system: you find a Federation Wissenschaft team, fight off five hostiles and a Suliban ship, and bring the team home. It starts at warp 1, needs warp 5 to complete, and pays 5,000 Parsteel and 600 Tritanium before unlocking Revenge of the Ancients. The second Escalation is a level 61 station mission that asks for Operations 61. Both are covered below.
Escalation objectives
The level 6 version is about saving a Föderation Science Team from hostile territory. There are four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Find the Science Team in the Hosun system. Location: Hosun.
- Defeat 5 hostiles in the Hosun system. Location: Hosun.
- Defeat the Suliban ship. Location: Hosun. Enemy strength is roughly 473.
- Return the science team to your station.
The five hostiles have to be beaten in Hosun, and the Suliban ship is the named fight that follows them.
Wo und welcher Warp
You can accept the level 6 Escalation at warp 1, and warp 5 covers the whole mission. The recommended level is 6.
Hosun is a level 5 neutral system. The game lists Orion Slavers and Rigellian Destroyers there at level 2 to 8, so the five-kill objective can be filled from those. The Suliban ship at about 473 strength is a light fight.

Completing it unlocks Revenge of the Ancients, where tensions reach boiling point and you look for the active Derelict. That mission pays a Grace Chen shard. The mission before Escalation is Interessenkonflikt.
Escalation at other levels
The second Escalation has nothing to do with Hosun. It is a station mission with a single objective, Upgrade Operations to level 61, at warp 1. It follows Void Beyond the Stars and unlocks Journey into Unknown. The game puts Operations 61 at about 150.5 trillion Parsteel, 576.2 billion Tritanium, 192.1 billion Dilithium and 400 Ascend Key 3, with Shipyard 60 required.

Other missions in Hosun
Hosun hosts three level 6 missions that all finish at warp 5: Escalation, Revenge of the Ancients and Hinter den Kulissen. Behind the Scenes pays 5,000 Parsteel for extracting a Tal Shiar agent from Independent space, so you can pick it up on the same trip.
Tips
For the level 6 version, clear the five hostiles at the lower end of Hosun’s level range. They count the same as the stronger ones, and your ship still has the Suliban fight to come.
For the level 61 version, the 1.125 billion Dilithium and 200 5★ Uncommon Explorer Parts arrive once Operations 61 is built, so there is nothing to do but finish the upgrade. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
