Breakthrough is an early station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with one objective: build Dilithium Generator A so your station has a steady income of Dilithium. It needs only warp 1 to start and complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 10, which lines up with the building’s own unlock at Operations 10. The reward is 5,000 Parsteel and 10 Dilithium, and finishing it unlocks Stockpiling Dilithium. It marks the point where Dilithium starts flowing on your station.

Breakthrough objectives

The story line asks you to build the Dilithium Generator to ensure a steady income of the valuable resource. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Construct Dilithium Generator A.

No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes once the generator is built.

Wo und welcher Warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens on your station.

The recommended level is 10. Current building data places Dilithium Generator A behind Operations level 10, so that upgrade is the real gate.

What Dilithium Generator A costs and produces

Current building data lists the first five levels of the generator like this:

Ebene Kosten Build time Anforderungen Dilithium per hour Storage
1 300 Tritanium, 400 Parsteel 45 seconds Operations 10 2 1
2 350 Tritanium, 500 Parsteel 2 minutes Operations 10, Dilithium Warehouse 1 4 2
3 400 Tritanium, 600 Parsteel 3 minutes 30 seconds Operations 10, Dilithium Warehouse 1 6 6
4 450 Tritanium, 700 Parsteel 5 minutes Operations 10, Dilithium Warehouse 3 8 13
5 500 Tritanium, 800 Parsteel 9 minutes Operations 10, Dilithium Warehouse 3 12 24

The storage column is how much the generator holds before it needs collecting. At level 1 it holds just one unit, so the next few upgrades matter more for Dilithium income than the building itself. From level 2 on, each upgrade also needs a Dilithium Warehouse.

The mission’s 5,000 Parsteel covers the Parsteel cost of all five of these levels, which add up to 3,000.

Related station missions

The same generator is also the objective of Dilithium-Generator A konstruieren, a station mission that pays 440 Tritanium and twelve 1 Minute Repair Speed Ups. The follow-up upgrades have missions of their own, starting with Aufrüstung des Dilithiumgenerators A auf Stufe 2.

Tips

Build the Dilithium Warehouse soon after. Dilithium Generator A level 2 will not start without it, and at 2 Dilithium per hour the generator’s one-unit level 1 storage is full within half an hour.

Keep some Tritanium for the generator upgrades. Each of the first five levels asks for 300 to 500 Tritanium.

Dilithium is spent on research and advanced ship components, so an early generator pays off for the rest of the game. The full generator family is on the Dilithium Generators page, and other missions are on the Missionsleitfaden.
