The ECS Fortunate is a ship-building mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. The story line tells you to research the ship, acquire its blueprints and build it in the Werft, and the single objective is to build the ECS Fortunate. It runs at warp 1 from start to finish and the game lists a recommended level of 1, so the ship’s own build requirements are what you need to meet. The reward is 50 Recruit Tokens, and completing it unlocks the next ship-building mission, The Phindra.

The ECS Fortunate objectives

One objective, with no choice split:

  • Build the ECS Fortunate.

No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes once an ECS Fortunate comes out of your shipyard.

Wo und welcher Warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens on your station.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The practical gate is the ship’s build requirements, covered below.

What it takes to build the ECS Fortunate

Current game data for the ship:

Item Requirement
Blaupausen 10
Shipyard level 7
Forschung One research requirement at level 1
Build cost 750 Tritanium
Build time 1h 20m

The ECS Fortunate is a Grade 1 Gemeinsame survey ship from the Independent faction, with a maximum tier of 4 and a maximum level of 20. Its ability, Parsteel Mining Laser, raises its Parsteel mining rate by 15% at ship level 1, scaling up to 100% at level 20. The game describes it as an entry level freighter built for carrying capacity at the cost of speed and weapons.

The ECS Fortunate rewards

The reward is 50 Recruit Tokens. Completing the mission also unlocks the next ship-building mission, The Phindra.

The early ship-building missions compared

The ECS Fortunate sits in a run of Missionen that each ask you to build one ship. Current game data for the ships in that run:

Schiff Typ Blaupausen Shipyard Build cost Build time
Orion Corvette Schlachtschiff 15 5 800 Tritan 50m
ECS Fortunate Umfrage 10 7 750 Tritan 1h 20m
Phindra Abfangjäger 30 10 6,500 Tritanium 8h 30m
Turas Entdecker 35 12 12.500 Tritanium 13h

The ECS Fortunate is the cheapest build in the run and needs the fewest blueprints. The mission before it, The Orion Corvette, pays 20 Recruit Tokens, so this one pays more for a smaller build.

For the ship itself, current game data gives the ECS Fortunate a 2,000 cargo hold and warp range 6 at Tier 1, rising to a 14,700 hold and range 13 at Tier 4.

Tips

Build it even if you do not plan to fly it much. The mission only needs the ship built, and a survey ship with a Parsteel mining bonus is useful for early Parsteel runs anyway.

Check Shipyard level 7 first. If your Shipyard is lower, the build is blocked until you upgrade it.

Start the Phindra blueprints early. The next mission’s ship needs 30 blueprints and Shipyard level 10, a big step up from the Fortunate.
