The Kelvin Paradox

The Kelvin Paradox is an early Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you confront Spock. You find the Jellyfish in Nausicaa, rescue Spock from it in a fight at roughly 2,935 strength, and bring him back to your station. It needs warp 8 to finish and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 6 2★ Explorer Parts and 360 Tritanium, and completing it unlocks the next mission in the chain.

The Kelvin Paradox objectives

Es gibt drei Ziele und keine Verzweigung:

  • Find the Jellyfish. Location: Nausicaa.
  • Rescue Spock from the Jellyfish. Location: Nausicaa. Enemy strength is roughly 2,935.
  • Bring Spock to the Station.

The first two steps are both in Nausicaa. You track down the Jellyfish, and the rescue is a fight against it. Once it is beaten, you bring Spock home and the mission completes.

Wo und welcher Warp

There is no pickup system, and the mission becomes available at warp 1. Completing it needs warp 8, the range for Nausicaa. With both away steps in one system, this is a single trip out and back.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The fight at about 2,935 strength is the real check, and it is modest for a ship that can already reach warp 8.

The Kelvin Paradox rewards

Belohnung Amount
2★ Explorer Parts 6
Tritanium 360

Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission in the chain.

The Kelvin Paradox and its neighbours

All three Missionen in this stretch finish at warp 8:

Mission Warp zum Abschließen Belohnungen
Zerbrochener Spiegel 8 75 Premium Recruit Token, 11,000 Officer XP, 20 Recruit Token
The Kelvin Paradox 8 6 2★ Explorer Parts, 360 Tritanium
Die Supernova von Romulus 8 Depends on the choice you make

Because the warp stays at 8 throughout, one ship can run all three in a row. The story threads through them. Broken Mirror unravels more of the mystery of Spock’s disappearance and ends with a trip to the Nausicaa system, which is exactly where this mission picks up. After the rescue, The Supernova of Romulus has you reunite Spock with the Enterprise in Bellas, then choose where to search next. Its two paths pay different small rewards, 2★ refined materials and ship parts, and both end with a fight against ambushers at about 3,012 strength.

Tips

Bring a combat ship, even an early one. The Jellyfish fight is small at about 2,935, but it is still a fight, and a mining ship is the wrong tool for it.

Use the Explorer Parts on an explorer. Six 2★ Explorer Parts are a small step toward upgrading a 2★ explorer hull, and the Tritanium goes into early Gebäude.

Run the chain in order. Broken Mirror comes first and pays recruit tokens and Officer XP, this mission follows, and The Supernova of Romulus picks up the story after it.

Every mission by level is on the Missionsleitfaden.
