Buyer Beware is a level 50 KSG side mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you recover stolen latinum for a KSG researcher named Mer’kas. It is picked up in tIn jIb, needs warp 185 to start and warp 205 to complete, and has two fights: the trader’s thug in Dela and the trader in Belmont. You return the latinum to Mer’kas in ghuH. The reward is 800 3 Hour Speed Ups and a KSG Datapad.
Buyer Beware objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Find the trader. Location: Dela.
- Defeat the trader’s thug. Location: Dela. Enemy strength around 15,761,293.
- Track down the trader. Location: Belmont.
- Defeat the trader. Location: Belmont. Enemy strength around 15,221,854.
- Return the latinum to Mer’kas. Location: ghuH.
The thug in Dela is listed slightly stronger than the trader in Belmont. Beating the trader recovers the latinum, and the delivery to ghuH ends the mission. The route runs Dela, Belmont, ghuH, so the only backtracking is the final jump to Mer’kas.

The pickup system is tIn jIb. Warp 185 gets you the mission, and warp 205 is needed to finish, for the Belmont leg. The recommended level is 50.
Both fights are around 15.2 to 15.8 million strength, the main combat check for this mission.

Buyer Beware ties with the truth ending of Missing Inventory I for the most speed ups at this level, and it is the only one of the five with two named fights.
Tips
Pair it with Family Matters. Both start in tIn jIb, both send you to Dela, and both finish in ghuH.
Repair between Dela and Belmont if you can. The two fights are in different systems, so the travel gives you a natural break.
Fall From Grace, the third level 50 KSG mission that starts in tIn jIb, has no listed fights, so it is a lighter follow-up once Buyer Beware is done.
