Bombardment is a level 12 Orion story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You pick it up in Orion at warp 8, and it needs warp 11 to finish because the bombing run and the only fight both happen in Elona. The Orion Underboss has approved an attack on a Rigellian harvesting colony, and you are the one flying it. The pay is 6,000 Parsteel and an Orion Manifest, and finishing it opens the next Orion mission, Show of Force.
Bombardment objectives
There are four objectives across three systems, with no choice split:
- Pick up the explosives on Oxoss in the Fostaa system. Location: Fostaa.
- Bombard Yidosa from orbit. Location: Elona.
- Defeat the Rigellian Defender fleet. Location: Elona. Enemy strength is roughly 3,877.
- Return to Ghoshan Drell. Location: Orion.
The route is a loop. You start in Orion, fly out to Fostaa to collect the explosives from the planet Oxoss, then carry them to Elona and bomb Yidosa from orbit. Once the colony is hit, the Rigellian Defender fleet shows up in the same system, and that fight is the one combat step in the mission. With the defenders beaten, you fly back to Orion and report to Ghoshan Drell to close it out.
Nothing branches here. Every player takes the same four steps and gets the same rewards, so there is no dialogue option to worry about.
Wo und welcher Warp
The pickup system is Orion, and the game lists warp 8 to start. Warp 11 is needed to complete it, and Elona is the stop that sets that number, since the bombing and the fight both happen there. Fostaa is an easier jump on the way.
The recommended level is 12, but warp is the real gate, so check your ship’s range before you commit it to the run. If Elona is out of reach, the explosives just sit in your hold until you can get there.

Bombardment and Show of Force compared
Bombardment leads straight into Machtdemonstration, and the two missions sit at the same recommended level. Current game Daten for both:

Show of Force needs less warp but has the tougher fight, against a Nausicaan commander in the Nausicaa system. Both Missionen hand out one Orion Manifest, so running them back to back gives you two.
Tips
Send a combat ship. The Rigellian Defender fleet is only around 3,877 strength, but a survey ship will still struggle with it, and the fight comes after two jumps, so you do not want to go home and swap ships halfway through.
Plan the route before accepting. Orion, Fostaa, Elona and back to Orion is four legs of travel for one short fight, and a ship with just enough warp for Elona will spend most of the mission in transit.
Keep the Parsteel for building upgrades. At level 12, 6,000 Parsteel is a useful top-up for early station upgrades.
Run Show of Force next while the ship is still out. It starts at warp 1 and its last step sends you back to Orion, so you can chain the two missions without a detour. More story missions sorted by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
