Compensation is a Klingon faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you meet Duras and pay to earn his respect. It has only two objectives: a trip to Annalu and a 4 million Dilithium donation. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but completing it needs warp 120, so your ship’s range is the first thing to check. The reward is 40 4★ Rare Refined Ore, and finishing it unlocks the next mission in the chain.
Compensation objectives
There are two objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with Duras. Location: Annalu.
- Donate 4M Dilithium to prove your devotion.
No fight is listed. The first step is travel only, and the mission clears when the donation goes through. That makes Compensation a resource check more than a combat test: if you can reach Annalu and you have 4,000,000 Dilithium to spare, you can finish it in one sitting.
Where and what warp
There is no pickup system, and the mission becomes available at warp 1. Completing it needs warp 120, which is the jump to Annalu.
The recommended level shows as 1. In practice the warp 120 requirement and the size of the Dilithium donation put this mission firmly in the late game, so those two numbers are the real bar.

Compensation compared with A Warrior’s Spirit
Compensation follows A Warrior’s Spirit, where you meet Korath and earn her respect. The two share the same structure, a meeting followed by a donation, and the same warp 120 finish.

A Warrior’s Spirit pays Klingon Credits and Klingon Points and costs 645,120 Romulan Points. Compensation pays only refined ore and has no faction point swing at all, so it will not affect your standing with any faction.
Taken together, the pair gives you 30 or 40 of each 4★ Rare refined material: Crystal and Gas from the first mission, Ore from this one.
Tips
Stockpile the Dilithium before you travel. The meeting in Annalu is quick, and the donation is the only thing that can stall the mission. Four million Dilithium is a real amount at this stage, so check your warehouse before you commit a ship to the trip.
Use any ship that can make the jump. With no hostile in the objective list, you do not need your best combat ship here. A ship with the range for warp 120 is enough, which leaves your main fighter free for other work.
The 4★ Rare Refined Ore is the reason to do this mission. Refined rare ore is slow to build up by refining alone, so 40 of it in one payment is useful for upgrades that call for it.
