Buying Favor is a level 73 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which the Forsaken try to talk a group of Aeonian colonists into an alliance. You pick it up in Nisindei and need warp 2,100 to start and to complete it. Along the way you fight 10 hostiles and donate 80K Σ-Tritanium. The main payout is 96,000 Σ-Dilithium, 4,000 Trait XP and 2,500 Σ-Federation Credits, which makes it a solid Dilithium run for Federation-aligned players.
Buying Favor objectives
Gessa, Koyala, Ondi and Orasek of the Forsaken head out to meet Aeonians who have settled in the Veil, and they bring you along. There is no choice split. The objectives run in this order:
- Meet with the Aeonians in Nichenei.
- Proceed to Grauga.
- Defeat 10 hostiles of level 73 or higher.
- Donate 80K Σ-Tritanium.
- Get an answer in Nichenei.
- Return to Oetesik in Nisindei.
Mayor Phemola will not commit and asks for a show of good faith first. A neighbouring colony, run by Mayor Karlar, has been attacked by Surgewalkers, so you clear them out and then send the colony a donation for repairs. When you go back for an answer, Phemola turns the Forsaken down anyway. It turns out Karlar had helped Phemola’s people once, and the whole errand was a way to settle that debt.

The mission starts in Nisindei and needs warp 2,100 both to begin and to finish. The travel covers three systems: Nichenei for the talks, Grauga for the fight and the donation, and Nisindei again for the hand-in. The recommended level is 73.

Tips
Have the 80K Σ-Tritanium in the bank before you jump to Grauga, since the donation comes straight after the fight and the mission waits until you pay it. If you also run More Harm Than Good, its 126,000 Σ-Tritanium more than covers the cost. Both are explained on the Σ resources page.
The combat step only asks for 10 hostiles of level 73 or higher, with no named target or listed enemy strength, so any ship that farms hostiles at this level will do. The Surgewalkers are the story reason for the fight.
For a Federation player the 96,000 Σ-Dilithium is the reason to do this one, and it is the only level 73 Forsaken mission in the table that pays Dilithium. The Trait XP is a smaller bonus on top.
Reputation moves the usual way for these missions: a Federation gain, with a Klingon loss that is larger than the gain. Read faction reputation before you commit to a long run of them. The Forsaken themselves are introduced in the Margins, and more missions by level are on the mission guide.
