Building Orders

Building Orders is a short donation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command about helping an Independent colony rebuild after a devastating attack. The game lists a recommended level of 1. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 23 to complete, since the one travel step is in Noakyn. After inspecting the damage you donate 5,000,000 Parsteel. The reward is 10,000 Ship XP, and it unlocks Lost Worlds of Time and Space. The Parsteel is the real cost.

Building Orders objectives

There are two objectives and no choice split:

  • Investigate the damage on Laerra. Location: Noakyn.
  • Donate 5,000,000 Parsteel to the colony.

Laerra is the colony world inside the Noakyn system. Reaching it clears the first objective, and the donation follows immediately. No hostile is listed and there is no return trip, so the mission ends the moment the Parsteel is handed over. The Parsteel is the rebuilding material for the colony, and it is by far the biggest ask in the mission.

Where and what warp

No pickup system is listed. The mission becomes available at warp 1, and Noakyn requires warp 23 to reach, which is the warp to complete. Noakyn is the only system involved.

The recommended level is 1. With no fight in the mission, warp 23 and the 5,000,000 Parsteel donation are the two things that decide when you can finish it.

Building Orders rewards

The mission pays 10,000 Ship XP. Completing it also unlocks the next mission, Lost Worlds of Time and Space.

How it compares with the next mission

Building Orders hands straight over to a station mission, so the two are easy to plan together. Current game data:

Mission Warp to complete What it asks Reward
Building Orders 23 Visit Laerra in Noakyn, donate 5,000,000 Parsteel 10,000 Ship XP
Lost Worlds of Time and Space 1 Upgrade Operations to Level 28 2,000,000 Parsteel

The pair roughly balances out on Parsteel. Building Orders takes 5,000,000 and the next mission gives 2,000,000 back once Operations reaches Level 28, so the net cost of the two is 3,000,000 Parsteel, plus whatever the Operations upgrade itself costs you.

Tips

Bank the Parsteel before you fly. The donation step follows the Noakyn visit directly, and having 5,000,000 on hand lets you finish in one trip.

Send any ship that can reach Noakyn. There is no combat in the mission, so a combat ship is not needed. That frees your fighters for hostiles while a spare hull runs the errand.

Think about timing if Parsteel is your bottleneck. 5,000,000 Parsteel paid out for 10,000 Ship XP is a steep trade when you are also saving for station upgrades, and Lost Worlds of Time and Space only pays back once Operations 28 is done. If both are far off, it can make sense to leave Building Orders until your Parsteel income is higher. The mission before this one is The Secret Cabal, and other missions by level are on the mission guide.
