Beyond Horizons

Beyond Horizons is a late-game story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you investigate Federation fringe space. It is recommended for level 51, starts at warp 1 and needs warp 56 to complete. The whole mission takes place in Fibona and comes down to one fight: protecting a Starfleet vessel against an enemy at roughly 15,221,854 power. The reward is 40,500,000 Tritanium and 1 Data shard, and finishing it unlocks The Benefit of Hindsight.

Beyond Horizons objectives

There are two objectives and no choice split:

  • Investigate Federation outland space. Location: Fibona.
  • Protect the Starfleet vessel. Location: Fibona. Enemy strength is roughly 15,221,854.

You travel to Fibona to investigate, and the second step is the fight to protect the Starfleet ship. There are no donations, hostile counts or return trips.

Where and what warp

Beyond Horizons is available from warp 1 but needs warp 56 to complete, since Fibona is the only system involved.

The recommended level is 51, which fits the fight: at about 15.2 million power, the enemy calls for a ship built for level 51 content. Warp 56 is modest by late-game standards, so strength is the limiting factor here, not range.

Beyond Horizons rewards

Reward Amount
Tritanium 40,500,000
Data shards 1

Completing the mission also unlocks the next one in the storyline, The Benefit of Hindsight.

The 40.5 million Tritanium is the bulk of the value. The single Data shard is a small step toward that officer.

How it compares with other level 50 to 51 fights

Several late missions put you against enemies in the 15 million range. Beyond Horizons is the shortest of them:

Mission Level Warp to complete Main fight Other steps
Beyond Horizons 51 56 About 15,221,854 One travel step
Guidance 51 230 Marauder, about 15,600,929 Escort a research vessel across several systems
Patterns of Behavior 50 185 Borg Scout, about 15,761,293 8 level 50 hostiles
The Abyss 1 listed 185 Borg Cube, about 15,600,929 10 level 49 hostiles

Beyond Horizons has the lowest warp requirement by a wide margin and the weakest main enemy of the four, though only slightly. The others add hostile counts or long escort routes, and their rewards reflect that: Guidance pays 18 million Dilithium and 220 repair speed ups, and Patterns of Behavior pays 5,000 Latinum and 530.4 million Parsteel.

Tips

Bring your strongest combat ship. The fight is the whole mission, and there is nothing to soften the enemy first.

Repair and go in at full health. With only one objective after arrival, the only way to fail is to lose that fight.

Put the Tritanium toward station upgrades at this level, where Tritanium costs run into the tens of millions. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
