Bartered Goods is a mission in Star Trek Fleet Command’s early Borg storyline with Dalen. To get the technology Dalen needs for his research, you go to Draken and bargain with the Romulans: pay 750,000 Tritanium, or perform a service by dealing with a Romulan informant in Rana Nur. The game lists a recommended level of 25, and the mission can be accepted at warp 1 but needs warp 17 to complete. Paying earns 26 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas; the service earns fifty 1 Hour Speed Ups. Either way it unlocks Trespasser.
Bartered Goods objectives
The story line asks you to trade services to the Romulans in exchange for technology necessary to continue Dalen’s research. Everyone starts the same way:
- Go to Draken and appeal to the Romulans for a trade. Location: Draken.
- Choose how to pay for the technology.
If you purchase the technology
- Pay 750,000 Tritanium to the Romulans.
- Return to Dalen on Qualor IX with an update. Location: Qualor.
If you perform a service for the technology (Romulan path)
- Seek out the Romulan informant in Rana Nur. Location: Rana Nur.
- Defeat the Romulan informant. Location: Rana Nur. Enemy strength is roughly 44,329.
- Return to Dalen on Qualor IX with an update. Location: Qualor.
The purchase path is a payment and one trip. The service path adds a detour to Rana Nur and a fight against the informant.
Where and what warp
The mission can be accepted at warp 1, but Draken, Rana Nur and Qualor need warp 17 to complete it. The recommended level is 25. The informant at about 44,329 strength is in the same range as the other fights in Dalen’s missions, and the purchase path skips it entirely.

Either choice unlocks the next mission, Trespasser. Neither path changes faction reputation.
Choosing a path
The service path pays fifty hours of speed ups for one fight and costs nothing. The purchase path costs 750,000 Tritanium and pays 26 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas. Pick by what you are short of: build time, or refined gas.

All four share a recommended level of 25 and warp 17 or 18, and the fights stay in the 43,000 to 45,000 strength range. After Trespasser the storyline continues in Faustian Bargain.
Tips
Decide at Draken. The choice comes straight after the appeal, so have 750,000 Tritanium ready if you plan to pay.
The informant fight is the same difficulty as the rest of Dalen’s missions, so a ship that cleared Deal With A Devil can take it.
