And the Skies Will Darken is a Borg story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You investigate a disturbance in Romulan space, scan a planet in Davidul, and then the Borg arrive. - Return to your Station.

- Return to your Station.

Staying to save the survivors means disabling a Borg probe at around 347,000 strength before you head home. Escaping skips the fight completely: you simply return to your station.
Where and what warp
There is no pickup system and the mission can be accepted from warp 1. Completing it needs warp 13, which covers Davidul. The game lists a recommended level of 1. If you plan to save the survivors, the Borg probe at about 347,000 strength is the real bar; the escape path has no combat at all.

The Borg probe here has the same listed strength as the Borg ship you distract in The Seeds of Life, so a ship that can save the survivors is ready for the next mission’s fight too. The Seeds of Life also asks for Inert and Active Nanoprobes and a raw crystal donation, so it is a bigger job than this one.
Tips
Save the survivors if your ship can handle about 347,000 strength. The 500 Ultra Recruit Tokens are the stronger reward for most players, and you will need that fighting strength for The Seeds of Life anyway.
Escape if you need speed ups more than recruits. Six 8 Hour Speed Ups are 48 hours of timer reduction, and the repair speed ups help keep ships moving.
