Beginning of the End

Beginning of the End is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you respond to an emergency transmission from Veisa. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but it needs warp 120 to complete and both fights are close to 6 million strength: the Explorer at about 5.8 million and Captain Mensala at about 5.9 million. The reward is 194,400,000 Parsteel, and it unlocks Live Long And Prosper. Warp 120 and those two fights are the real bar.

Beginning of the End objectives

Three objectives, no choice split:

  • Investigate the attack. Location: Veisa.
  • Defeat the Explorer. Location: Veisa (enemy strength about 5,773,328).
  • Defeat Captain Mensala. Location: Veisa (enemy strength about 5,867,534).

All three steps are in Veisa. You look into the attack, beat the Explorer and then face Captain Mensala.

Where and what warp

You can accept it at warp 1. Warp 120 is needed to complete it, which is what it takes to reach Veisa.

The listed recommended level is 1. Two fights near 6 million strength are the real test.

There is no return step. The mission completes in Veisa once Mensala is beaten.

Beginning of the End rewards

The reward is 194,400,000 Parsteel. Completing it unlocks Live Long And Prosper.

Missions before and after

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Rewards
Knowledge Is Its Own Reward (before) 1 1 30 each of 4★ Rare Refined Crystal, Gas and Ore
Beginning of the End 1 120 194,400,000 Parsteel
Live Long And Prosper (after) 1 95 See its guide

Knowledge Is Its Own Reward stays at warp 1, so Beginning of the End is a jump in range. Live Long And Prosper drops back to warp 95.

Tips

Repair between the Explorer and Mensala. The two fights are almost the same strength and come one after the other, so a ship that barely wins the first will struggle with the second.

Stay in Veisa for the whole mission. Every objective is there, and leaving only adds travel.

Nearly 195 million Parsteel is a large payout. It is worth clearing as soon as your fleet can handle two 6 million strength fights at warp 120.

Veisa is a Romulan system, and the whole mission plays out there, from the first look at the attack to the last fight.

The story line calls it a response to an emergency transmission. The next mission, Live Long And Prosper, asks you to stop the Ah’rak Fosh from using a superweapon. For more missions at this range, see the mission guide.
