An Old Wound is a five-part mission chain that begins with an attack on a Federation colony in Thama and follows the Gorn responsible to a final challenge against Stal. All parts are recommended for level 40, and the chain is short on travel: warp to complete ranges from 8 to 40. The rewards are resources, ship parts and refined materials, with 4 TOS Nyota Uhura shards in the finale. Part 2 lets you chase the Gorn or help a mining base instead.

An Old Wound Part 1
A Federation colony in Thama has been attacked. You answer the distress call, investigate the colony, defeat the warship and follow it to Calder.

The trail leads to Hann, where a Gorn fighter is waiting. After that fight, you choose between going after the Gorn and helping the mining station.

Warp to complete: 25. Following the Gorn means another fight in Tau Ceti. Helping the mining base keeps you in Hann and costs 1,000,000 Tritanium. The rewards are different on each path.

- Defeat the Gorn straggler, in the Tau Ceti system (enemy strength ~937,932).
Rewards for this path: 838,000 Dilithium, 800 Premium Recruit Token, 25 Federation Credits.
Help the mining station

- Donate 1,000,000 Tritanium to the miners.

An Old Wound Part 3
You look for more information on the Gorn in Nausicaa, which means getting past a Nausicaan Raider before speaking with Warlord Kravka.

The Gorn are about to kill again. You answer a distress call in Priya, examine the wreckage and follow the Gorn warp trail to Nelve. There are no fights in this part.

The chain ends with an honorable challenge. You find Stal in Nekosa, beam Kirk down to Dolora, keep the Gorn from interfering and beam Kirk back up.

Tips for completing An Old Wound
Every named fight is listed at under 1 million strength (between about 0.90 and 0.94 million), and the chain has no hostile sweeps, so a level 40 ship should handle it easily. Part 5 has two fights in a row in Nekosa.
For Part 2, pick by reward. The Gorn path pays 838,000 Dilithium, 800 Premium Recruit Tokens and 25 Federation Credits. The mining station path pays 37,128,000 Parsteel, 36 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas and 5 × 1 Day Speed Up, for a 1,000,000 Tritanium donation.
Part 3 is the shortest trip at warp 8, and Part 4 ends at your Station.

Yes for a low-effort run. The fixed rewards are 4 TOS Nyota Uhura shards, 11,551,000 Parsteel, 3,155,000 Tritanium, 120 Latinum, 10 × 3 Hour Speed Up, 3 × 1 Day Peace Shield, 150 each of 3★ Battleship, Interceptor and Explorer Parts, and 18 each of 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas, Ore and Crystal.
