Amalgam is a four-part mission chain built around Glibnar and a plot against the Cardassians, playable from around level 31. It opens with a distress signal a single warp from your station, then pushes you across Klingon and Romulan space to hunt supply ships before a final choice decides who takes the Cardassians. Rewards across the chain include Amalgam Parts, Premium Recruit Tokens, Parsteel, Dilithium, and Survey Parts. It is worth running for the token and part payouts.
Each part unlocks the next once you finish it, so you play the four in order. The first part stays close to your station, and the warp requirement climbs from Part 2 onward as the story moves into contested territory. What follows is a part-by-part breakdown of the objectives, the systems you travel to, the warp distance to plan for, and the rewards you collect.
Amalgam at a glance
| Part | Recommended level | Warp to complete | Key reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amalgam Part 1 | 31 | 1 | 100 Amalgam Parts |
| Amalgam Part 2 | 31 | 24 | 280 3★ Survey Parts |
| Amalgam Part 3 | 31+ combat | 23 | 450 Premium Recruit Tokens |
| Amalgam Part 4 | 31 | 26 | 200 Amalgam Parts + 1,260,000 Tritanium |
Amalgam Part 1
The chain begins with a distress signal close to home, so you can start it without a long trip.
- Investigate the distress signal.
- Disable the ship (enemy power around 652,792), so bring a combat ship that can handle a level 31 target.
- Return to your station.
Warp to complete: 1. Recommended level: 31.
Rewards: 100 Amalgam Parts, 1,993,000 Parsteel, and one 4 Hr Peace Shield. Finishing Part 1 unlocks the rest of the chain.
Amalgam Part 2
Part 2 sends you to disrupt supply lines across Klingon and Romulan space, so the warp jumps up sharply here. You hit one target in each faction’s territory, first the Romulan system Rekar and then the Klingon system Kus’Rok.
- Make your way to Rekar.
- Defeat a Romulan Supply Ship of level 31 or higher (in Rekar).
- Make your way to Kus’Rok.
- Defeat a Klingon Supply Ship of level 31 or higher (in Kus’Rok).
Warp to complete: 24. Recommended level: 31.
Rewards: 133,000 Dilithium, 1,400 Latinum, and 280 3★ Survey Parts.
Amalgam Part 3
You report to Glibnar’s boss in Fyrsta, the meeting turns hostile, and you end up fighting your way out. This part introduces the Cardassian Gul Nishe, who sets up the revenge storyline that pays off in Part 4.
- Report back to the “boss” in Fyrsta.
- Defend yourself from Gul Nishe in Fyrsta.
- Defeat 10 hostiles of level 31 or higher.
- Regroup at your station.
Warp to complete: 23. The combat objectives need level 31 or higher targets, so crew a ship for that even though the mission itself lists a low recommended level.
Rewards: 450 Premium Recruit Tokens, 3,587,000 Parsteel, and 200 Ship XP.
Amalgam Part 4
The finale has you help Glibnar plan his revenge on the Cardassians, and it ends with a branching choice.
- Discuss your plan of action.
- What should we do?
At this point the mission asks whether to turn the Cardassians over to the Klingons or the Romulans. The two paths send you to different systems and different enemies, but the reward is the same either way, so the choice is about which space is easier for you to reach rather than which pays better.
Path 1: hand them to the Romulans (Martok)
- Meet with Martok in H’Atoria.
- Defeat 3 Romulan Supply Ships of level 31 or higher.
- Report back to Martok in H’Atoria.
Path 1 rewards: 200 Amalgam Parts and 1,260,000 Tritanium.
Path 2: hand them to the Klingons (Tomalak)
- Meet with Tomalak in Lempo.
- Defeat 3 Klingon Supply Ships of level 31 or higher.
- Report back to Tomalak in Lempo.
Path 2 rewards: 200 Amalgam Parts and 1,260,000 Tritanium.
Warp to complete: 26. Recommended level: 31.
Tips for completing Amalgam
The warp requirement is the thing to plan for. Part 1 sits a single jump from your station, but Parts 2 through 4 all reach into the low-to-mid 20s (24, 23, and 26), so fit a warp range that can get you out that far before you start Part 2. Every combat objective in this chain calls for level 31 or higher targets, from the 652,792-power ship in Part 1 to the ten hostiles in Part 3 and the supply ships in Parts 2 and 4, so bring a combat ship crewed to beat level 31 enemies. Part 3 is the heaviest for combat, since clearing ten hostiles on top of Gul Nishe takes time, so top up repair costs before you head to Fyrsta. The 4 Hr Peace Shield from Part 1 is handy if you want to run the later parts without being attacked while you travel. Part 4 splits by which faction’s supply ships you fight, so pick the path whose systems (H’Atoria for Romulan, Lempo for Klingon) are easier for you to reach.
Are the Amalgam rewards worth it?
Yes, mainly for the Amalgam Parts (300 across Parts 1 and 4) and the 450 Premium Recruit Tokens in Part 3, which are the standout drops. On top of those you collect several million Parsteel, a chunk of Dilithium and Tritanium, 280 3★ Survey Parts, and a peace shield. For a level 31 chain that stays inside a warp 26 radius, the payout is solid, and the combat is manageable if your ship is crewed to beat level 31 targets. Run it once you have the warp range for the later parts.
