A Devil on Your Shoulder is a level 25 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help the Breen follow the Tholians into Federation space. Everything with a location happens in Gemet, and the mission needs warp 18 to complete. The one fight is a Starfleet ship at roughly 75,312 strength. It pays 600 Ultra Recruit Tokens and 71,000 Tritanium, and the recruit tokens make it worth finishing.
A Devil on Your Shoulder objectives
There are five objectives with no choice split:
- Confront the ship.
- Trace the Tholians’ steps into Federation space. Location: Gemet.
- Defeat the Starfleet ship. Location: Gemet. Enemy strength is roughly 75,312.
- Investigate the Intelligence building. Location: Gemet.
- Return to your Station.
The opening step has no system attached in the game data. After that the mission moves into Gemet and stays there for the next three objectives: you trace the Tholian trail, fight the Starfleet ship, then investigate the Intelligence building. The last step brings you home.
The fight is the only point where the mission can stall. Everything else is travel or an investigate step, so if your ship can handle a target around 75,312 strength, the rest follows.

The mission is available at warp 1 and needs warp 18 to complete. The recommended level is 25. Because three of the five objectives share one system, it is a single trip out and a single trip back.

A Devil on Your Shoulder has the lowest warp of the three and the only recruit token payout. The fights are close in strength across the stretch, so a ship that handles one handles the others.
Tips
Bring a combat ship. The Starfleet ship in Gemet is the only thing between you and the rewards, and at roughly 75,312 strength it is not a target for a mining or survey hull.
Stay in Gemet once you arrive. The trace, the fight and the investigation all happen there, so there is no reason to leave until the final return to your station.
If you are chasing recruit tokens, this is the mission to prioritise in this stretch. The one before it pays Officer XP and a speed up, and the one after it pays resources that change with your choice.
