Academy of Paris is a three-part mission chain in which a field training trip with Tom Paris goes wrong when Orions show up, and you team up with B’Elanna Torres to track down the mercenaries and get Paris and his cadets back from an auction. All three parts are recommended for level 35, start at warp 1 and finish at warp 30 or 40. Two choice splits decide whether you earn Tom Paris shards or B’Elanna Torres shards, three at a time, so you can collect up to six of one officer. The chain opens with a long sweep of 34 hostiles, and the auction guards in Part 3 are the toughest fight.

Academy of Paris Part 1
Accompany Tom Paris on a field training assignment. You meet him in Andoria and follow the cadets’ test flight to Vanir, where an ionized gas giant, a large hostile sweep and an Orion ship with a tractor beam are waiting.
- Meet with Tom Paris in Andoria.
- Accompany the cadets on their test flight in Vanir.
- Investigate the ionized gas giant in Vanir.
- Defeat 34 hostiles of level 30 or higher.
- Decide how to deal with the Orion vessel.
Disable the Orion vessel
- Defeat the Orion in Vanir (enemy strength ~937,932).
- Follow the Orions to Azati.
Rewards: 3 Tom Paris shards, 1,159,000 Tritanium, 22,166,000 Parsteel, 36,000 1★ Raw Isogen.
Disrupt the tractor beam
- Donate 18k Dilithium to disrupt the tractor beam.
- Follow the Orions to Azati.
Rewards: 3 B’Elanna Torres shards, 652,000 Dilithium, 22,166,000 Parsteel, 185,000 Officer XP.
Warp to complete: 30.
Academy of Paris Part 2
Save Paris and his students. B’Elanna meets you in Andoria, and the hunt runs through Peckinpah and Suliban before you are forced to fall back to Deneva.
- Meet with B’Elanna in Andoria.
- Find Kurash in Peckinpah.
- Defeat 8 hostiles of level 34 or higher.
- Track down the mercenaries in Suliban.
- Defeat the Suliban mercenary in Suliban (enemy strength ~1,124,459).
- Retreat to Deneva.
Warp to complete: 40. Rewards: 900 Latinum, 1,159,000 Tritanium, 800 3★ Raw Crystal, 90 15 Minute Assignment Speed Up, 2 1 Day Speed Up.
Academy of Paris Part 3
Rescue Paris and his cadets. They are up for sale at an auction in Exchange Delta, and you choose between breaking it up and making an offer. Both paths still end in a fight with the auction guards.

- Defeat 18 hostiles of level 34 or higher.
- Defeat the auction guards in Exchange Delta (enemy strength ~1,969,977).
- Pick up the cadets in Exchange Delta.
- Return to Federation space in Andoria.
Rewards: 3 B’Elanna Torres shards, 445,000 Dilithium, 15,129,000 Parsteel, 36,000 1★ Raw Isogen.
Make an offer
- Make an offer on the cadets in Exchange Delta.
- Defeat the auction guards in Exchange Delta (enemy strength ~1,969,977).
- Pick up the cadets in Exchange Delta.
- Return to Federation space in Andoria.
Rewards: 3 Tom Paris shards, 2,225,000 Tritanium, 1,500 3★ Raw Ore, 4 1 Day Speed Up.
Warp to complete: 30.
Tips for completing Academy of Paris
Decide which officer you want before you start. In Part 1, fighting the Orion gives Tom Paris shards and disrupting the tractor beam gives B’Elanna Torres shards. In Part 3 it flips: breaking up the auction gives B’Elanna and making an offer gives Tom Paris. So for six Tom Paris shards, fight in Part 1 and bargain in Part 3; for six B’Elanna Torres shards, pay the 18k Dilithium in Part 1 and break up the auction in Part 3.
The 34-hostile sweep in Part 1 is mandatory on both paths and takes the longest. Breaking up the auction in Part 3 adds 18 more hostiles, while making an offer skips them.
The auction guards, at about 2 million strength, are more than twice as strong as anything earlier in the chain. Bring your best ship to Exchange Delta. Part 2 needs warp 40; the other two parts need warp 30.
Are the Academy of Paris rewards worth it?
Yes, if you are building Tom Paris or B’Elanna Torres, since three parts can deliver six shards of either. Every route also pays 22,166,000 Parsteel in Part 1 and 900 Latinum in Part 2, and the auction route adds 36,000 1★ Raw Isogen.
