A World of Grey is a Star Trek Fleet Command story mission where you track down the Vulcan logic extremists and stop them before they destroy another colony. It opens at warp 1, needs warp 17 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The trail runs from Vulcan to Obilent and back to your home system, followed by two named enemies, T’Lota and Maren, at roughly 154,890 and 133,020 strength. The reward is 400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 14,000 Officer XP and 92,000 Tritanium, and finishing it unlocks Broken Promises and Empty Threats.
A World of Grey objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Try and find the Vulcan extremists. Location: Vulcan.
- Follow the signal. Location: Obilent.
- Return to your home system.
- Defeat T’Lota. Enemy strength is roughly 154,890.
- Defeat Maren. Enemy strength is roughly 133,020.
The first three steps are a chase. You look for the extremists in Vulcan, follow their signal to Obilent, and then head back to your home system.
The two fights come straight after that return, and no other system is named for them. T’Lota is the stronger of the pair at about 154,890, and Maren follows at about 133,020. Beating Maren completes the mission.
Where and what warp
A World of Grey becomes available at warp 1 and no pickup system is named. Completing it needs warp 17, which covers the trips to Vulcan and Obilent.
The recommended level is 1. The two back-to-back fights, both above 130,000 strength, are what you actually need to be ready for.

Both missions have two fights in a row, but A World of Grey’s pair is about 30,000 to 50,000 strength tougher. Homecoming pays more in raw resources; A World of Grey leans toward crew, with Ultra Recruit Tokens and Officer XP.
Tips
Repair on the way back. The mission sends you to your home system right before the two fights, so it is a natural chance to dock and start them at full health.
T’Lota comes first and is the harder of the two. Maren is about 21,000 weaker, though you go into that fight with whatever damage T’Lota left.
Spend the Ultra Recruit Tokens and Officer XP together. Recruiting new officers and then levelling them with the 14,000 XP makes the most of the reward. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
