Homecoming is a single mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you confront a group of Vulcan logic extremists. It can be picked up at warp 1 and needs warp 19 to finish, with every system objective in Losti. The mission has two back-to-back fights against a Vulcan Destroyer and a Vulcan Battleship, both at a little over 100,000 strength. The rewards are 622,000 Parsteel, 19,000 Dilithium and 17 repair speed ups, and it leads into A World of Grey.

Homecoming objectives

There are five objectives and no choice split:

  • Follow the signal. Location: Losti.
  • Hail the Vulcan ships. Location: Losti.
  • Defeat the Vulcan Destroyer. Location: Losti. Enemy strength is roughly 104,274.
  • Defeat the Vulcan Battleship. Location: Losti. Enemy strength is roughly 101,520.
  • Return to your Station.

Everything before the trip home happens in Losti. You follow a signal there, hail the Vulcan ships, and then fight them one at a time. The Destroyer comes first and is slightly stronger; the Battleship follows. After both are down, return to your station to close the mission.

Where and what warp

Homecoming has no named pickup system and can be picked up at warp 1. Completing it takes warp 19, which is the range you need to reach Losti.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. The two Vulcan ships at about 100,000 strength each are the real test, and you fight them in a row with no break objective between them.

Homecoming rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 622,000
Dilithium 19,000
15 Minute Repair Speed Up 17

Completing Homecoming unlocks the next mission, A World of Grey.

The 17 repair speed ups add up to over four hours of repair time, which suits a mission built around two fights.

The two Vulcan fights

Target Order Enemy strength
Vulcan Destroyer First ~104,274
Vulcan Battleship Second ~101,520

The two ships are close in strength, so if the Destroyer goes down cleanly, the Battleship should too, as long as your hull has not taken too much damage in the first fight.

What comes next

A World of Grey follows the extremists as they move on another colony. It needs a little less warp, 17 to complete, and takes you to Vulcan and Obilent before two more fights: T’Lota at roughly 154,890 and Maren at roughly 133,020. Those are noticeably stronger than the Homecoming pair. Its rewards are 400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 14,000 Officer XP and 92,000 Tritanium.

Tips

Repair between the two fights if your hull is low. They are consecutive objectives in the same system, and going into the Battleship fight with a damaged ship is the most likely way to lose it.

Use Homecoming as a check for A World of Grey. If the Vulcan ships at about 100,000 give you trouble, the next mission’s fights at 130,000 to 155,000 will be harder still, so upgrade before moving on.

Keep the 17 repair speed ups for the next mission. You will want them when you face T’Lota and Maren.

The mission before this one in the story is Tell Me Why. More missions at this range are on the mission guide.
