A Test of Intellect is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help the Progenitors with their tests. It starts at warp 1 but needs warp 120 to complete, and everything away from your station happens in Glacii. The game lists a recommended level of 1; warp 120 and two Nausicaan ships at roughly 2.73 million strength each are the real bar. The reward is 8,250,000 Tritanium, 500 4★ Common Interceptor Parts and three 1 Day Speed Ups, a strong payout for a one-system mission.
A Test of Intellect objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Find the signal. Location: Glacii.
- Convince the Nausicaans to participate. Location: Glacii.
- Defeat the Nausicaan Pirate. Location: Glacii. Enemy strength is roughly 2,726,322.
- Defeat the Nausicaan Leader. Location: Glacii. Enemy strength is roughly 2,726,322.
- Return to your Station.
You follow a signal to Glacii and bring the Nausicaans into the Progenitors’ test. That leads to two fights of equal strength, the Nausicaan Pirate and then the Nausicaan Leader. The mission ends with a return to your station.
Where and what warp
No pickup system is listed. The mission is available from warp 1, but completing it needs warp 120 for the trip to Glacii.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. That figure does not reflect the mission. Two fights at about 2.73 million strength and a warp 120 destination are what you need to plan for.
A Test of Intellect rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Tritanium | 8,250,000 |
| 4★ Common Interceptor Parts | 500 |
| 1 Day Speed Up | 3 |
Completing it unlocks the next mission, Revelations.
Breaking down the fights
Both Nausicaan ships sit at the same strength, roughly 2,726,322, and they come back to back in Glacii. If your ship wins the first fight with plenty of hull left, it can likely handle the second. If the first fight is close, repair before the Leader.
The same strength shows up elsewhere in the late story. The Hunter Leader in Wrong Foot Forward and the IRW Gratia in Glory of Kahless are both about 2,726,322, and both of those missions also need warp 120. A ship that clears one of them is ready for this.
What comes next
Revelations, the next mission, takes you back to the wormhole at Perralon 472 to investigate a singularity. It needs warp 105, lower than this mission, has no scripted fight, and pays 1,000 Transporter Patterns.
Tips
Repair before you head out. Both fights are in Glacii at the far end of a warp 120 trip, so starting at full health saves a long trip back.
Put the Interceptor Parts to work if you fly Interceptors. 500 4★ Common Interceptor Parts in one go is a solid contribution to a tier-up.
The three 1 Day Speed Ups are best saved for long building or research timers.
Previous mission: New Blood. Next mission: Revelations. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
