Witnesses is the interrogation leg of the Phillips Incident story, where you beat information about Venonn’s mutiny out of Klingon hostiles. It opens at warp 1, but finishing it means reaching warp 120 and destroying 16 hostiles across Rixos and Dohrmas. The payout is one of the biggest Parsteel drops in the arc at 151.2 million, and it comes with a heavy Klingon reputation hit.

Witnesses objectives

Four objectives, in this order, with no choice split along the way.

  • Venture into Rixos to find more information on the USS Phillips. Location: Rixos.
  • Defeat 10 hostiles of level 45 or higher.
  • Venture further into Klingon territory to find more information. Location: Dohrmas.
  • Defeat 6 hostiles of level 46 or higher.

The shape is two travel steps, each followed by a kill count. That is 16 hostiles total, and the level floor rises by one between the two batches. Nothing here asks you to donate resources or make a decision, so the whole mission comes down to whether your ships can farm level 45 and 46 targets without falling apart.

Where and what warp

Rixos is the first stop and Dohrmas is the second, deeper into Klingon territory. You can accept Witnesses at warp 1, which means it will show up in your log long before you can act on it. Completing it requires warp 120.

That gap between pickup and completion is the real gate. Warp 120 is deep-space range, well past where a mid-game player is operating, so treat the mission as something that sits in your log until your warp range catches up. There is no partial credit for getting to Rixos if you cannot reach the second half.

Witnesses rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 151,200,000
1 Hour Repair Speed Up 24
Federation Credits 600
Federation Points 448,000
Klingon Points -725,760

Completing Witnesses also unlocks the next part of the chain.

The Parsteel is the headline. 151.2 million in one mission clears a meaningful chunk of a base upgrade at the level this mission is built for. The 600 Federation Credits and 448,000 Federation Points push your Federation standing up, which feeds faction store purchases and Federation ship unlocks.

The Klingon Points line is negative, and the loss is larger than the Federation gain. Killing Klingon hostiles is what drives that number down. If you are working toward Klingon faction ships or holding a Klingon reputation tier you care about, run the math before you take this one, because 725,760 points is a long climb to earn back.

Tips

Check your warp range first. Warp 120 decides whether this mission is a session’s work or a bookmark for later, and everything else in the plan depends on that answer.

Budget repair time into the run. The mission hands back 24 one hour repair speed ups, which is a fair signal of how much hull damage 16 hostile kills at this level tends to cost. Keep those speed ups for the mission itself rather than spending them the moment they land.

Sixteen kills is a grind, not a single fight, so bring a ship you can cycle without babysitting. Level 45 and 46 hostiles come in different hull types, and STFC combat swings hard on hull matchups, so pick a target type your ship counters and stay on it rather than shooting whatever is closest.

Sort out your faction plan before the first kill. The Klingon reputation loss lands as you complete the mission, so if you are mid way through a Klingon store purchase or a Klingon ship build, finish that first and take Witnesses afterward.
