What’s Past is Prologue is an early story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single task: test your warp drive by flying to a distant star. It is recommended for level 7 and needs only warp 1 to start and to complete. The reward is 5,000 Parsteel, 50 Premium Recruit Tokens, 15 1★ Battleship Parts and a Relocation Token, and finishing it unlocks the next mission in the story. It takes one short flight, so there is no reason to skip it.
What’s Past is Prologue objectives
The story line reads: travel to a distant star. There is one objective and no choice split:
- Test the warp drive by going to a distant star.
No system is named for the objective, no hostile is listed and nothing is donated. The mission is a warp test, so the only thing you do is fly your ship out.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete. The mission is available from your station, and any ship you have at this stage can make the trip.
The recommended level is 7. With no fight involved, the level is a guide to where the mission falls in the story rather than a difficulty bar.
What’s Past is Prologue rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Parsteel | 5,000 |
| Premium Recruit Token | 50 |
| 1★ Battleship Parts | 15 |
| Relocation Token | 1 |
Completing the mission also unlocks Through the Long-Range Sensors.
How it compares with the next mission
Through the Long-Range Sensors is recommended one level higher, at level 8, and it also needs just warp 1. It pays 9,000 Parsteel and another Relocation Token. So the two missions together give you 14,000 Parsteel and two Relocation Tokens for very little flying.
What’s Past is Prologue is the one of the pair with recruit tokens and ship parts. The 50 Premium Recruit Tokens go toward officer recruitment, and the 15 1★ Battleship Parts help with early battleship upgrades.
Tips
Do it as soon as it appears. It costs one short flight and hands you resources you can put straight into your next station upgrade.
If you are still choosing which ship to invest in, the Battleship Parts are a reason to try a battleship early, since they only help that ship type.
Hold on to the Relocation Token until you know where you want your station to sit. Moving is easier to plan once you have seen a few more systems.
More early missions are listed by level on the mission guide.
