Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 3

Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 3 is one of the very first station missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. Its only objective is to raise Parsteel Generator A to level 3, it needs warp 1, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 20 Tritanium. The upgrade finishes in moments, and its real value is the extra Parsteel production the upgrade gives you.

Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 3 objectives

The mission text explains that upgrading the Parsteel Generators produces more Parsteel, the alloy used mainly to build up your station. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 3.

No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission clears as soon as the generator reaches level 3.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens on your station.

The recommended level is listed as 1. Parsteel Generator A unlocks at Operations 1, so there is no building gate to worry about at this point.

Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 3 rewards

The reward is 20 Tritanium.

In the game’s station mission chain, this one follows Upgrade Operations to Level 3, and completing it unlocks Upgrade Parsteel Warehouse to Level 3.

What the generator does at this stage

Current building data gives these anchor values for Parsteel Generator A in its first levels:

Level Upgrade cost Build time Parsteel per hour Parsteel storage
1 10 Parsteel 15s 90 45
5 120 Parsteel 4m 495 1,975
10 2,800 Parsteel, 75 Tritanium 16m 1,200 9,600

Level 3 sits between the first two rows: cheap, fast and a clear step up in hourly output from level 1. Storage is how much Parsteel the generator can hold at once, and at these levels it is small, so collect from it often. Parsteel Generator A also carries a hull health bonus for all ships, which the data lists as unlocking at Syndicate Level 30 and worth 5% at generator level 5.

The early station missions compared

The first station missions all pay small amounts of Tritanium. Current game data for the ones around this step:

Mission Reward
Upgrade Operations to Level 3 30 Tritanium
Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 3 20 Tritanium
Upgrade Parsteel Warehouse to Level 3 30 Tritanium
Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 4 35 Tritanium
Upgrade Parsteel Generator B to Level 3 25 Tritanium

At 20 Tritanium, this is the smallest reward of the group, so the production boost is the better reason to do it.

Tips

Follow the station missions in order during your first session. Each is a quick upgrade, and together they build the habit of keeping generators and warehouses level with each other. Other station and story missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
