Upgrade Operations to Level 39

Upgrade Operations to Level 39 is a station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single objective: raise your Operations building to level 39. It starts and finishes at warp 1, and the game lists a recommended level of 1, so the upgrade itself is the only real requirement. The reward is 10,000,000 Tritanium and three 3 Hour Repair Speed Ups. It pays well, but it covers only part of what Operations 39 costs.

Upgrade Operations to Level 39 objectives

The mission text describes Operations as the home of the command center and the station’s main computer. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Upgrade Operations to Level 39.

No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes as soon as Operations reaches level 39.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens on your station, so no ship has to leave dock.

The recommended level is listed as 1. In practice the gate is the building: the mission cannot finish until Operations 39 is built, and that upgrade has requirements of its own.

Upgrade Operations to Level 39 rewards

Reward Amount
Tritanium 10,000,000
3 Hour Repair Speed Up 3

In the game’s mission chain, completing this one unlocks Academy Level 40.

What Operations 39 costs

Current building data puts the Operations 39 upgrade at these resources, before any cost reductions:

Resource Amount
Parsteel 1,578,960,000
Tritanium 29,025,000
Dilithium 9,675,000
3★ Common Refined Ore 4,800
3★ Rare Refined Ore 500

The unboosted build time is 113 days 19 hours 36 minutes. Before you can start it you need Shipyard 38 and Ship Hangar 38.

The 10,000,000 Tritanium reward is roughly a third of the Tritanium this level asks for. It arrives after the build finishes, so it cannot pay for Operations 39 itself, but it is a solid start on the next project.

How Level 39 compares with nearby steps

Each Operations level from the mid-thirties has its own mission. Current game data for the last few:

Mission Tritanium Repair speed ups
Upgrade Operations to Level 35 7,000,000 2 × 1 Hour
Upgrade Operations to Level 36 7,500,000 1 × 3 Hour
Upgrade Operations to Level 37 8,000,000 1 × 3 Hour
Upgrade Operations to Level 38 9,000,000 2 × 3 Hour
Upgrade Operations to Level 39 10,000,000 3 × 3 Hour

Level 39 pays the most Tritanium of this group and the most repair time: three 3 Hour speed ups add up to nine hours, against six at Level 38.

Tips

Plan the prerequisites first. Shipyard 38 and Ship Hangar 38 both have to be in place before Operations 39 can start, so if either one lags behind, that is your real bottleneck.

Look ahead to Operations 40 while this build runs. The next level needs 400 Ascend Key, Shipyard 39, Astronautics Studio 39 and Treasury 1, along with 45,150,000 Tritanium. Putting the reward from this mission toward that Tritanium makes sense.

Save the repair speed ups for a bad day. Nine hours of repair time will bring a heavily damaged ship back after a lost fight or an armada.
