Under the Wing is a Romulan faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Your job is to stop an unwanted Independent caravan that has moved into strategically important Romulan space. It opens at warp 1, needs warp 45 to complete, and all three objectives are in Chaltok. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but you have to destroy two Wanderer ships at about 1.37 to 1.39 million strength, so that is the real bar. The reward is 22,500,000 Parsteel, 360 3★ Battleship Parts, 600 Romulan Credits and 100,000 Romulan Points, with a Federation reputation cost.
Under the Wing objectives
There are three objectives and no choice split:
- Track the Independents in the Chaltok system. Location: Chaltok.
- Destroy the first Wanderer vessel. Location: Chaltok. Enemy strength is roughly 1,385,777.
- Destroy the Wanderer transport. Location: Chaltok. Enemy strength is roughly 1,373,877.
Tracking the caravan is travel only. Once you find it in Chaltok, you face two fights back to back. The first Wanderer vessel is the stronger of the two at about 1,385,777, and the transport follows at about 1,373,877. The mission ends as soon as the transport is destroyed, with no return-to-station step.
Where and what warp
Under the Wing becomes available at warp 1 and no pickup system is named. Completing it needs warp 45 to reach Chaltok.
The recommended level is 1. Two fights close to 1.4 million strength each are what the mission actually asks of you.

Finishing the mission raises your Romulan standing and lowers your Federation standing by 98,400 points. It also unlocks the next mission, Nectar.
Under the Wing in the Candor storyline
Under the Wing follows In Sheep’s Clothing, and it belongs to the same run of Romulan missions that starts with Annexation, where you claim Candor for the Romulan Star Empire. Current game data for the missions in that run:

Under the Wing is the step where the warp requirement rises from 38 to 45 and the enemies jump past a million strength. It also pays the most Romulan Credits of the four.
Tips
Check your faction reputation first. Each mission in this run costs Federation Points, and Under the Wing takes the largest bite.
Repair between the two Chaltok fights if you can. The first Wanderer vessel is the stronger one, so you meet the transport with whatever damage the first fight left.
The 360 3★ Battleship Parts are worth holding for a battleship you plan to tier up.
