Trifecta is a station mission with a single job: construct Drydock C, the third drydock at your base. Nothing about it happens in space, so warp is 1 to pick it up and 1 to finish. The listed payout is 35,000 Parsteel, and finishing it opens the next part of the chain. The drydock itself is the real reward.
Trifecta objectives
One objective. No branches, no choices, no combat.
- Construct Drydock C.
The mission tracks your station build queue rather than anything you do with a ship. Start construction on Drydock C, wait out the build timer, and the objective clears itself the moment the building finishes. There is no hostile to defeat, no system to travel to, and nothing to hand in afterward.
Pay attention to the letter. Drydock C is the specific building this mission watches, so work on any other dock will not move the counter. If the objective looks stuck, check what you actually queued.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete. Both numbers say the same thing: the whole mission takes place inside your own system, at your station. Your ship’s warp range, its condition, and travel time have no bearing on whether you can finish this.
That makes Trifecta one of the missions you can leave running in the background. Queue the build, go do something else, and collect on your next login.
Trifecta rewards
35,000 Parsteel. Completing it also unlocks the next part of the chain.
Treat the Parsteel as a nudge toward a build you were going to do anyway. It is a fair amount of resource at the point in an account where a third drydock is on the table, but it is not why you run this mission.
The building is the payout. A third drydock means a third ship out of dock at the same time, and that changes how your account operates more than any single resource drop. Two ships forces a choice every time you log in: mine or grind, mine or run a mission, defend or expand. Three ships lets you keep a miner parked on a node, keep a combat ship working hostiles, and still have a hull free for missions, transport, or a fight you did not plan for. Every hour your account spends earning is an hour a third dock can double up on.
Tips
Line up your parsteel before you start rather than after. Construction draws on your stockpile, and a build that stalls because the warehouse is empty leaves a mission sitting open in your log for no good reason. Clearing out cheaper upgrades first, so the resource is not committed elsewhere, saves you the wait.
Check your Operations level if the drydock refuses to build. Station buildings are gated by what Operations allows, and a blocked construction is usually that ceiling rather than a missing resource. Raising Operations is the fix, and it tends to unlock several other things at the same time.
Start the build at the end of a session. It runs on a timer and the mission completes when the timer does, so kicking it off before you log off means the reward is waiting for you instead of costing you idle minutes watching a bar fill.
Have a ship ready for the new dock. An empty drydock earns nothing. Work out beforehand what the third slot is for, whether that is a dedicated miner so your combat ships never have to stop grinding, or a survey ship you have been leaving parked because there was no room for it. Most players get the most out of the third dock by putting a miner in it and letting it run unattended.
Expect your repair habits to change. More ships in service means more damage to fix and more time spent in the repair queue, so it is worth knowing which of your three hulls you can afford to leave damaged and which one needs to be ready at short notice.
If you are returning to an old account and Trifecta is still open, look at your station before assuming the mission broke. A construction that was queued and cancelled leaves the dock unbuilt, and the objective simply has not been met yet.
