The Weak is a Romulan mission about leaning on a senator until he cooperates, and it pays 3,315,000 Dilithium when you finish. You can accept it at warp 1, but closing it out needs warp 105, so it sits in your log until your range catches up. One fight, two systems, and a Federation reputation loss of nearly 395,000 points.

The Weak objectives

Four objectives, in this order. No branches and no choices.

  • Find the Starfleet Ship, in Perralon 472.
  • Attack the Starfleet Ship, in Perralon 472. Enemy strength around 1,075,836.
  • Blackmail the Senator, in Alycen.
  • Return to your Station.

The first two steps happen in the same place. You locate the Starfleet ship in Perralon 472, then destroy it, and at roughly 1.08 million strength it is not a fight that troubles a ship capable of reaching this part of the map. Whatever the ship was carrying is what gives you leverage over the senator.

Step three moves you to Alycen for the blackmail itself, which resolves on arrival with no combat attached. The last step sends you home to your station to collect. Neither of those legs asks anything of your ship beyond the flight time.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 picks the mission up, which is the number that misleads people. The mission stays available in your log from very early on, and players accept it long before they can act on it. Warp 105 is the real requirement, because Perralon 472 and Alycen both sit far enough out that nothing short of that range will reach them.

Check your range before you plan around the Dilithium. Getting from a mid-range warp to 105 means warp research and a ship refit, and that is a project measured in weeks, not an afternoon. If you are not close to 105 already, treat this mission as something to come back to.

The Weak rewards

Reward Amount
Dilithium 3,315,000
Officer XP 157,000
Romulan Credits 600
Romulan Points 374,000
Federation Points -394,944

Finishing it also unlocks the next part of the chain.

The Dilithium carries the mission. Over three million from a single run is a serious deposit toward research or the Dilithium half of a ship build, and it arrives for one fight and two jumps. The 157,000 Officer XP is the quiet second prize, since leveling officers at this stage of an account is slow and expensive by any other route.

Then there is the faction math. You gain 374,000 Romulan Points and 600 Romulan Credits, and you lose 394,944 Federation Points. The loss is bigger than the Romulan gain, so this is a mission that pushes your account harder away from the Federation than it pulls you toward the Romulans. On a committed Romulan account that hardly registers. On a mixed or Federation-leaning account it can undo a stretch of reputation grinding.

Tips

Sort out your faction position first. Losing almost 395,000 Federation Points can drop you out of a reputation tier, which closes the Federation store and any officer shards you were buying there. If you are mid-grind on that side, finish what you need before you touch this one.

Bring something built for the Perralon 472 fight rather than whatever is docked. The Starfleet ship sits at roughly 1.08 million strength, and while that is modest for a warp 105 account, showing up in a mining ship or a half-crewed hull turns a formality into a repair bill.

Plan the travel time. Perralon 472 and Alycen are deep space destinations, and the objectives only tick over when your ship actually arrives. Start the run when you have time to steer it, or you will come back to a mission parked halfway.

Spend the Officer XP with a plan. 157,000 in one drop is enough to push a key officer up several levels, and it goes further on a synergy crew you already use than spread thin across officers sitting on the bench.

Save the Romulan Credits toward something specific. Six hundred is a partial purchase in most Romulan faction stores, so pair it with what you are already earning from Romulan hostiles rather than treating it as spending money on its own.
