The Prodigy is a Star Trek Fleet Command escort mission. A controversial student, Donnas Vil, needs safe passage through dangerous space to an Andorian checkpoint so she can attend the Andorian Academy of Art. The mission is picked up in Clytomenes, recommended for level 16, and needs warp 7 to start and warp 8 to complete. The reward is 7,000 Parsteel. With one small fight, it is an easy Parsteel pickup for its level.
The Prodigy objectives
There are three objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Pick up Donnas Vil on Phosba. Location: Whinnul.
- Escort Donnas Vil to the checkpoint in Nilkino. Location: Nilkino.
- Protect Donnas Vil. Location: Nilkino. Enemy strength is about 2,935.
You collect the student on Phosba in Whinnul and take her to the checkpoint in Nilkino. The trouble comes at the end: once you reach the checkpoint you have to protect her from an attacker listed at about 2,935 strength.
Where and what warp
The Prodigy is offered in Clytomenes. It needs warp 7 to start and warp 8 to complete, with Whinnul and Nilkino as the two systems you visit.
The recommended level is 16. The fight at about 2,935 strength is light for that level.
The Prodigy rewards
The reward is 7,000 Parsteel. The mission does not unlock a follow-up.
The other mission from Clytomenes
Clytomenes offers one other mission from the same pickup point, and both send you to Phosba in Whinnul:

Relay Network has no fight and pays a little Dilithium. The Prodigy adds one fight and pays much more.
Tips
Bring a combat ship rather than a survey ship. The escort ends in a fight, and the mission does not finish until Donnas Vil is protected.
Since both Clytomenes missions stop at Phosba, it is worth doing them in the same session to save a trip to Whinnul.
