The Orion Corvette is an early ship-building mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. The mission text asks you to research the ship, acquire its blueprints and build it in the shipyard, and its one objective completes when the Orion Corvette is built. The recommended level is 1 and it needs warp 1 to start and to complete. The reward is 20 Recruit Tokens, and it unlocks The ECS Fortunate. The build itself is cheap; blueprints are the part that takes effort.
The Orion Corvette objectives
There is a single objective and no choice split:
- Build the Orion Corvette.
The mission description breaks that into three stages: research the ship, collect its blueprints, then build it in the Shipyard. Only the finished build counts as the objective.
What building the Orion Corvette needs
The ship data lists these requirements, as base values:
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Blueprints | 15 |
| Shipyard level | 5 |
| Research | One research project at level 1 |
| Tritanium | 800 |
The ship data does not name the research project; the mission text simply tells you to research the ship first. The Orion Corvette is a grade 1, common rarity Independent battleship. The game describes it as a nimble Orion smuggling vessel that is still strong enough to hold its own in a firefight.
In the current ship data it tops out at tier 4 and level 20, with officer slots opening at ship levels 5, 10 and 20. Its ship ability, Enhanced Hull, adds to its maximum hull health, rising from 10 at level 1 to 110 at level 20. These are base values before research and officer bonuses.
Where and what warp
This mission is completed at your station. It needs warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, and no system is involved. The recommended level is 1.
The mission before this one is Surveillance.
The Orion Corvette rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Recruit Token | 20 |
Completing it also unlocks the next mission, The ECS Fortunate.
The Orion Corvette and the ECS Fortunate compared
The mission that follows is named after another grade 1 Independent ship. The ship data puts the two side by side like this:
| Ship | Hull type | Blueprints | Shipyard level | Build cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Orion Corvette | Battleship | 15 | 5 | 800 Tritanium |
| ECS Fortunate | Survey | 10 | 7 | 750 Tritanium |
The Fortunate needs fewer blueprints and slightly less Tritanium but a higher Shipyard level, and it is a survey ship rather than a battleship.
Tips
Check your Shipyard level. At level 5 it is a low bar, but the build cannot start without it.
Blueprints are the main hurdle. You need 15, and the 800 Tritanium build cost is small by comparison, so once the blueprints are in hand the build is easy to afford.
If you want to move straight on, look ahead to the ECS Fortunate, which needs Shipyard 7. Getting the Shipyard there while you gather Corvette blueprints saves a wait later. For every other mission by level, see the mission guide.
