The Lost Vessel is a small early-game mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. A Rigellian mining company needs help finding a missing ship, and your part is to donate 500 Parsteel to Cayut. The game lists a recommended level of 3, and the mission needs warp 5 to start and to complete. It can be picked up in any of 24 low-level systems. The reward is 150 Tritanium, which is a useful trade at a stage when Tritanium is scarce and Parsteel is not.
The Lost Vessel objectives
There is a single objective and no choice split:
- Donate 500 Parsteel to Cayut.
No system is named for the donation, no hostile is involved, and there is no travel beyond picking the mission up. Once the 500 Parsteel is handed over, the mission completes.
Where and what warp
The Lost Vessel has a long list of pickup systems: Aetisan, Bodex, Cospilon, Cymon, Dalfa, Dolcan, Falko, Follin, Groshi, Hroga, Iora, Jobe, Klora, Mayagrazi, Mulk, Panuq, Rabalon, Sverlov, Taoji, Toshen, Vawur, Vinmaier, Wagirur and Zorga. You only need to find it in one of them.
Warp 5 is needed both to start and to complete it. The recommended level is 3, and since the only requirement is 500 Parsteel, almost any new station can finish it.

False Profits and The Lost Vessel mirror each other. False Profits pays 500 Parsteel for mining just 10 Tritanium, and The Lost Vessel pays 150 Tritanium for 500 Parsteel. Hard Shoulder is the only other mission in the group that pays Tritanium, at 50 Tritanium plus 50 Officer XP.
The Lost Vessel is the only one of the four with no mining or combat, which makes it the fastest to clear if you have the Parsteel on hand.
Tips
Run it when you spot it. With 24 possible pickup systems, you may well pass one while doing other early missions, and the whole thing takes one donation.
Pair it with False Profits if both show up. False Profits hands you 500 Parsteel for a tiny mining job, which covers this mission’s donation exactly.
Use the Tritanium on early upgrades that call for it. At this point in the game 150 Tritanium goes a long way.
