The Lion’s Den is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you go into Klingon territory to retrieve Crucibles. You find them in Zlim’kach, clear 20 hostiles of level 39 or higher, beat a Klingon Officer of about 902,683 strength, and attach a Crucible to your ship before heading home. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 65 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the level 39 hostiles and the officer fight are the real bar. The reward is 800 each of 4★ Common Battleship Parts and 4★ Common Explorer Parts.
The Lion’s Den objectives
Five objectives with no choice split:
- Find the Crucibles in Klingon Space. Location: Zlim’kach.
- Defeat 20 hostiles of Level 39 or higher.
- Defeat the Klingon Officer. Location: Zlim’kach. Enemy strength is roughly 902,683.
- Attach the Crucible to your ship. Location: Zlim’kach.
- Return to your Station.
After locating the Crucibles in Zlim’kach, the mission asks for 20 hostile kills at level 39 or higher, with no system named, so they can be anywhere. Then comes the scripted Klingon Officer fight back in Zlim’kach. Once he is down, you attach a Crucible to your ship and fly home.
Where and what warp
The mission appears at warp 1, and completing it needs warp 65. Zlim’kach is the only named system, and you visit it at the start and again for the officer and the Crucible.
The recommended level is listed as 1. Twenty level 39 or higher hostiles and a 902,683 strength officer set the practical level.
The Lion’s Den rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| 4★ Common Battleship Parts | 800 |
| 4★ Common Explorer Parts | 800 |
Completing it unlocks the next mission, Emptiness.
The Crucible missions compared
The Lion’s Den follows Sitting Ducks, which also has you gather Crucibles. Current game data for both:
| Mission | Warp to complete | Hostiles | Scripted fight | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sitting Ducks | 80 | 10 of level 39 or higher | None | 4,725,000 Tritanium, 6 3 Hour Repair Speed Ups |
| The Lion’s Den | 65 | 20 of level 39 or higher | Klingon Officer, about 902,683 | 800 each of 4★ Common Battleship and Explorer Parts |
Both follow the same pattern: find the Crucibles, clear hostiles, attach a Crucible, go home. The Lion’s Den doubles the hostile count and adds a boss, but needs less warp than Sitting Ducks.
Both Crucible missions end with a return to your station, so your ship is home and ready for repairs after each one.
Tips
Do the 20 hostiles where you already farm. Any level 39 or higher hostile counts, so there is no need to hunt near Zlim’kach for them.
Repair before going back to Zlim’kach. The Klingon Officer is about 902,683 strength and comes right after the hostile grind.
Put the parts where they count. 800 each of 4★ Common Battleship and Explorer Parts is a large batch, so they are best saved for the battleship or explorer you are actively tiering.
The next mission is Emptiness. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
