The Hunt is On is a level 45 bounty mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you bring a murderous bandit to justice. Picked up in Izbrig at warp 100, it takes you from a devastated colony in Ovala through Rixos, Kayla and Hyland before you return McClyne to Izbrig. It needs warp 120 to complete, costs 800,000 Tritanium for information, and ends in a fight with McClyne at roughly 6.54 million strength. The reward is 10,334,000 Dilithium, 300 Ship XP and 20 Recruit Tokens.
The Hunt is On objectives
Eight objectives, no choice split:
- Investigate the devastated colony. Location: Ovala.
- Track the bandit to Rixos. Location: Rixos.
- Pay 800,000 Tritanium for the information.
- Find the bandit. Location: Kayla.
- Scan the bandit’s camp. Location: Kayla.
- Track down the bandit. Location: Hyland.
- Defeat McClyne. Location: Hyland. Enemy strength is roughly 6,542,068.
- Return McClyne to Izbrig. Location: Izbrig.
Most of the mission is detective work across five systems. The colony in Ovala points you to Rixos, where you pay 800,000 Tritanium for a lead. That lead takes you to Kayla to find and scan the bandit’s camp, and from there to Hyland, where you face McClyne. After beating McClyne you carry the bandit back to Izbrig to collect.

Similar bounty missions compared
Several high-level missions follow the same pattern of tracking a target and paying out Dilithium with 300 Ship XP. Current game data:
| Mission | Level | Warp | Main fight | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Hunt is On | 45 | 100 to start, 120 to complete | McClyne, about 6.54M | 10,334,000 Dilithium, 300 Ship XP, 20 Recruit Tokens |
| Tempting Fate | 47 | 135 | The fugitive, about 8.45M, plus 8 hostiles of level 45+ | 10,660,000 Dilithium, 300 Ship XP |
| Third Time’s the Charm | 48 | 160 | The Commander, about 1.08M | 4,400,000 Dilithium, 300 Ship XP |
The Hunt is On sits at the low end of this group for warp and level, and its Dilithium payout is close to Tempting Fate’s despite an easier fight. It is the only one with a Tritanium payment, and the only one with this many travel stops.
Tips
Have 800,000 Tritanium ready before you reach Rixos. The hunt cannot move on to Kayla until the information is paid for.
Repair before Hyland if the trip has been long. McClyne at about 6.54 million strength is the one fight, and it comes after a lot of flying.
Izbrig hosts other missions at this warp, including No Way Out, which sends you to Izbrig to find an Orion Underboss. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
