Nausicaan Battlebarge

The Nausicaan Battlebarge is a Neutral hostile that roams the galaxy between levels 53 and 60. It spawns in three hull types (Battleship, Explorer, and Interceptor), sits anywhere from warp 105 to warp 400, and drops 5-star Broken ship parts for whichever hull it is wearing. To beat it, check the target’s hull, bring the class that counters it, and hit hard before its combat buff fades.

How to beat the Nausicaan Battlebarge

Combat in STFC runs on a hull triangle: Interceptors beat Battleships, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors. Survey ships barely fight, so leave them docked. The Battlebarge shows up as all three hull types across its level band, so read the target’s hull before you engage. Bring an Interceptor for the Battleship version, a Battleship for the Explorer version, and an Explorer for the Interceptor version.

The Battlebarge also carries a damage buff that changes with level. At levels 53 to 55 it has Explorer Exploitation, which raises its damage against Explorers by 75% for the first five rounds. At levels 56 to 60 it swaps to Interceptor Exploitation and Battleship Exploitation, each adding 100% damage against those hulls for the first five rounds. The buff only covers the opening rounds, so avoid feeding it the hull it exploits at that level, and aim for a fast kill rather than a long fight.

For crew, put a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles in the chair and fill the seats with officers that add damage or mitigation. If you are still early, the cadet crew of Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura is a reliable starter. For current top picks, check the officer tier list, and expect the best crews to shift as the meta moves.

Where to find the Nausicaan Battlebarge

The Battlebarge clusters in neutral systems and climbs in warp as its level rises, from warp 105 at level 53 to warp 400 at level 60. Lower levels gather around systems like Belmont, Callicoat, and New London, while the higher levels push out to deeper systems such as Rydania, Tera Nora, and Xor’Na’Tin. Match your warp range to the level you want before you set out.

Level Warp Systems
53 105 Belmont, Callicoat, Farana, Hulman, Ishka’du, New London, Samson, Sauchei, Scanlon, Sosain
54 205 Belmont, Callicoat, Hulman, Isa’day, Ishka’du, New London, Samson, Sauchei, Scanlon, Sosain
55 230 Hulman, Isa’day, Ishka’du, New London, ST-19184, Samson, Sauchei, Scanlon, Sosain, Xenris, Xor’Na’Tin
56 255 Bell’eu, Blum, Isa’day, Ishka’du, Merius, New London, Omana, Rydania, ST-19184, Sauchei, Scanlon, Tera Nora, Xor’Na’Tin
57 285 Bell’eu, Blum, Isa’day, Ishka’du, Omana, Rydania, ST-19184, Sauchei, Scanlon, Tera Nora, Xor’Na’Tin
58 320 Bell’eu, Blum, Isa’day, Ishka’du, Rydania, ST-19184, Sauchei, Tera Nora, Xor’Na’Tin
59 355 Blum, Isa’day, Ishka’du, Rydania, ST-19184, Tera Nora, Xor’Na’Tin
60 400 Blum, Isa’day, Rydania, ST-19184, Tera Nora, Xor’Na’Tin

Rewards and what it drops

The Battlebarge drops 5-star Broken ship parts, and which type you get depends on the hull variant you attack. These are salvage components used to build and tier up 5-star ships, so they matter most once your fleet is in that grade. Ship XP also climbs with level, from about 5,100 at level 53 to nearly 11,900 at level 60, which makes the higher spawns useful for leveling a ship you are actively upgrading.

Drop What it is
5-star Broken Battleship Parts Salvage used to build and tier up 5-star Battleships
5-star Broken Explorer Parts Salvage used to build and tier up 5-star Explorers
5-star Broken Interceptor Parts Salvage used to build and tier up 5-star Interceptors

Nausicaan Battlebarge firing pattern

The Battlebarge fires two weapon groups. Its energy weapons hit every round for steady pressure, while its kinetic weapons hit much harder but only fire every other round. Time your repairs or mitigation around the kinetic volley, since that is the bigger hit.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energy 2 1,061,126–1,296,940 Every round 10% (1.8x)
Kinetic 2 2,546,722–3,112,637 Every other round 10% (1.8x)

The Nausicaans in Star Trek

Nausicaans are a tall, heavyset humanoid species from the planet Nausicaa, known across Star Trek as short-tempered mercenaries and hired muscle. In the 22nd century they raided cargo freighters, and Starfleet crews met them as brawlers and thieves rather than an organized power. Their most famous moment comes from a bar fight in which a young Jean-Luc Picard was stabbed through the heart and had it replaced with an artificial one. In the game they fit that reputation, running heavy, aggressive warships built to hit and grab.

Is the Nausicaan Battlebarge worth grinding?

It is worth your time if you are building or tiering 5-star ships, since it is a neutral source of Broken parts and pays solid ship XP at the top of its range. It is not a broad resource farm beyond that, so treat it as a targeted grind rather than a spot you park on for hours. When you go, match your warp to the level you can reach, check the hull the target is wearing, and bring the class that counters it so the fight stays short.
