Handover is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you return a captive Klingon to his people and then deal with the ambush that follows. At Het’Tenz’A you choose between paying the Klingons 4 million Dilithium in compensation or refusing and fighting their captain. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 110 to complete. Paying earns refined crystal; fighting earns 90 4★ Uncommon Battleship Parts and 4,590,000 Dilithium, more than the payment would have cost.

Handover objectives

The mission opens with two shared steps:

  • Return the captive Klingon to his people. Location: Het’Tenz’A.
  • Choose how to respond to the Klingon ambush.

Path 1: pay the Klingons compensation

  • Pay 4M Dilithium to the Klingons.
  • Return to your Station.

Rewards on this path: 27 4★ Rare Refined Crystal and 100 4★ Uncommon Refined Crystal.

Path 2: deny the Klingons compensation

  • Defeat the Klingon Captain. Location: Het’Tenz’A (enemy strength about 9,550,149).
  • Escape back to your Station.

Rewards on this path: 90 4★ Uncommon Battleship Parts and 4,590,000 Dilithium.

Where and what warp

Handover has no pickup system and starts at warp 1. Warp 110 is needed to complete it, which covers the trip to Het’Tenz’A. Both paths end back at your station.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. The real requirements are warp 110 and either 4 million Dilithium on hand or a ship that can beat a Klingon Captain at over 9.5 million strength.

Handover rewards

Reward Path 1 (pay) Path 2 (fight)
4★ Rare Refined Crystal 27 none
4★ Uncommon Refined Crystal 100 none
4★ Uncommon Battleship Parts none 90
Dilithium none 4,590,000

Completing either path unlocks the next mission in the chain.

Handover and neighbouring missions

Before Handover comes Nothing Comes for Free, where you perform a task for the Klingon captive in return for information on Venonn. After it comes Motivations, where you travel to New Vulcan to uncover the origins of Ensign Venonn.

Mission Warp to complete Main rewards Federation Points Klingon Points
Nothing Comes for Free 120 17 1M Tritanium Tokens, 800 4★ Common Explorer Parts, 600 Federation Credits 448,000 -725,760
Handover 110 Refined crystal, or Battleship Parts and Dilithium none none
Motivations 75 80 4★ Uncommon Refined Gas, 900 4★ Common Survey Parts, 600 Federation Credits 538,000 -890,928

Handover is the one mission in this stretch with no reputation change, and the warp requirement drops with each step.

Tips

If your ship can win the fight, Path 2 is the stronger choice. You keep your 4 million Dilithium, gain 4.59 million more and pick up Battleship Parts.

Path 1 is the safe route when the Klingon Captain is out of reach, but check your Dilithium first; the mission cannot continue until the 4 million is paid.

Repair before choosing Path 2, since the Klingon Captain is listed at more than 9.5 million strength. For the rest of the Venonn storyline, see the STFC mission guide.
