Frozen Core is a level 11 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where Alena needs help recovering her stolen research. You retrieve it from hostiles in Honsao, defeat five hostiles of level 9 or more and bring the samples home. The mission can be picked up in Fostaa or Imgra and needs warp 5 to start and finish. The reward is 1,600 Parsteel. It is a short hostile-clearing job with no named boss.
Frozen Core objectives
There are three objectives and no choice split:
- Retrieve Alena’s research from Hostiles in Honsao. Location: Honsao.
- Defeat 5 Hostiles of Level 9 or more.
- Return the samples to your station.
The research is in the hands of hostiles in Honsao, so the first step already means going there and fighting. The second objective asks for five kills against hostiles of level 9 or more. It does not name a system, so qualifying kills anywhere count. When both are done, you take the samples back to your station.
Where and what warp
Frozen Core is offered in Fostaa and Imgra. Warp 5 is enough both to start and to complete.
The recommended level is 11. Hostiles of level 9 or more are the only combat check, which is comfortable for most commanders at that level.
Frozen Core rewards
The reward is 1,600 Parsteel. No other resources, speed ups or items are listed, and the mission does not unlock a follow-up.
Frozen Core and Impact Site compared
Impact Site is the other Alena mission offered in Fostaa and Imgra. There, Alena has found where the gems come from and needs help securing samples on Apcor.

Impact Site needs two more warp but pays more than three times the Parsteel. If you can only fit in one, Impact Site is the better return.
Tips
Count the Honsao fights toward the five-kill objective where you can. Any hostile of level 9 or more qualifies, so you may not need extra kills beyond what the research recovery asks for.
Pick up Frozen Core and Impact Site together if you are near Fostaa or Imgra. Both are short, both belong to Alena’s storyline, and running them back to back saves a second trip.
