Foresight sends you to Rator to scout a Romulan forward starbase, clear the ship guarding it, and carry the intelligence back to Admiral Johnson in Thama. Three objectives, one fight, and a payout led by 500 Federation Recruit Tokens. The warp requirement is the real gate: you need 27 to finish it.

Foresight objectives

The objectives run in order, and the first two both take place in Rator.

  • Scout the Romulan starbase in Rator. Location: Rator.
  • Defeat the Romulan Defender. Location: Rator. The target sits at roughly 431,670 strength.
  • Return to Admiral Johnson with the intelligence. Location: Thama.

There is no choice split here, so every player finishes Foresight the same way, and only the middle objective involves combat.

Where and what warp

You can pick Foresight up at warp 1, so it can show up in your mission log long before you can act on it. Completing it is the harder number: the trip out to Rator and back to Thama puts the warp to complete at 27. If your ship’s warp range tops out below that, the mission sits unfinished until you have researched the range to make the jump.

Work out the route before you commit. Rator holds both the starbase you scout and the Romulan Defender you have to beat, and Thama is where Admiral Johnson takes the report, so it is a long haul out followed by a long haul back.

Foresight rewards

Reward Amount
Federation Recruit Token 500
Federation Credits 300
Federation Points 23,000
Klingon Points -26,496
Romulan Points -6,912

The Recruit Tokens and the 23,000 Federation Points carry the mission. The two negative lines are reputation you lose with the Klingon and Romulan factions, and they land whether or not the rest of the run goes smoothly.

Tips

Warp 27 decides when you can run this, not your level. Foresight will be sitting in your log for a long stretch of early progression, and there is nothing to do about it except keep pushing warp range research and your ship’s warp capability. Check the number before you plot a course, because a partial trip out to Rator wastes travel time.

The Romulan Defender at roughly 431,670 strength is the one thing that can stop the run outright. Compare that figure against your ship’s strength before you undock rather than after you arrive in Rator, and take a combat build rather than whatever you last used for mining.

Read the reputation lines before you accept. Losing 26,496 Klingon Points and 6,912 Romulan Points can knock you down a reputation tier and lock you out of faction store purchases you were saving for. If you have credits banked with either faction, spend them first, then run Foresight. On the Federation side the 23,000 points push the other direction and help open the Federation store.

The 500 Federation Recruit Tokens are the standout. Recruit tokens are how you pull Federation officers, so a single mission handing over 500 of them is worth planning your warp research around if you are building a Federation crew.
