Vorwärts und aufwärts

Onwards and Upwards is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission that asks you to increase Maia’s processing power by upgrading Operations to level 55. It is recommended for level 55 and needs warp 1 to start and to complete, so there is no travel and no combat. The reward is 300 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups and 101,250,000 Tritanium. The mission is a bonus on top of an upgrade you will make anyway, and the repair speed ups are the part you will notice.

Onwards and Upwards objectives

Es gibt ein Ziel und keine Verzweigung:

  • Upgrade Operations to Level 55.

The story frames the upgrade as more processing power for Maia, the station’s secret A.I. that you first meet in the Maia mission. In practice the whole mission is the Operations upgrade.

Wo und welcher Warp

No system is attached to the objective. Warp 1 is listed both to start and to complete, so the mission is done entirely at your station. The recommended level of 55 matches the Operations level it asks for.

What Operations 55 asks for

Current game Daten lists this base cost and unboosted build time for Operations level 55:

Requirement Amount
Parsteel 11.58T
Tritanium 40.95B
Dilithium 13.65B
5★ Ungewöhnlich Raffiniertes Erz 74,000
5★ Seltene Raffiniertes Erz 12,600
Unboosted build time 5445d 9h
Gebäude needed first Shipyard 54, Defense Platform F 20, Verteidigungstechnologien 54

Compared with Operations 54, level 55 raises the 5★ Uncommon Refined Erze from 46,200 to 74,000 and the 5★ Rare Refined Ore from 9,600 to 12,600. Defense Platform F also has to reach level 20, up from level 10 for Operations 54.

Onwards and Upwards rewards

Belohnung Amount
15 Minute Repair Speed Up 300
Tritanium 101,250,000

Completing Onwards and Upwards also unlocks the next part of the chain.

What the rewards are worth

Three hundred 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups add up to 75 hours of repair time. That is the most useful part of the payout for anyone running regular fights at level 55.

The Tritanium is less significant than it looks. At 101.25 million it is about a quarter of one percent of the 40.95 billion Tritanium that Operations 55 costs, so treat it as a top-up rather than a refund.

The upgrade itself also brings a stat gain: the Operations Weapon Damage Bonus, which applies to all your ships, is listed at 55% for level 55, up from 50% at level 50.

Tips

Finish the three prerequisite buildings first. Shipyard 54, Defense Platform F 20 and Defense Technologies 54 all need to be in place before Operations 55 can be queued.

Stockpile the 5★ refined ore early. Both the Uncommon and Rare amounts jump at this level, by roughly 28,000 and 3,000 units.

Spend the repair speed ups steadily. They come in small units, so they are easy to use on every repair rather than saving them for one big timer.

Operations 56, the level after this, needs Shipyard 55, Defense Platform F 30 and Raffinerie 55, so you can start those while Operations 55 builds. Every mission by level is on the Missionsleitfaden.
