Chip Off The Block is the Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you recruit Ro Mudd, recommended for level 29. It can be picked up at warp 1 and needs warp 24 to complete, moving between Kuzukoh and Valance in Rogue space. You deal with a blackmailer and then a Goon, two fights at roughly 200,000 strength each, before heading home. The reward is 15 Latinum and a 1 Day Peace Shield, and finishing it unlocks Doppelt oder nichts.
Chip Off The Block objectives
The story line is “Recruit Ro Mudd.” There are six objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with Ro. Location: Kuzukoh.
- Find the blackmailer. Location: Volant.
- Defeat the blackmailer. Location: Valance. Enemy strength is roughly 204,300.
- Return to Ro. Location: Kuzukoh.
- Defeat Goon. Location: Kuzukoh. Enemy strength is roughly 200,351.
- Kehren Sie zu Ihrer Station zurück.
The mission bounces between two systems. You meet Ro in Kuzukoh, go to Valance to find and beat the blackmailer, then come back to Kuzukoh, where a second fight with Goon is waiting. The two enemies are almost the same strength, so whatever ship beats the blackmailer should handle Goon as well.

You can accept Chip Off The Block at warp 1, but completing it needs warp 24. Kuzukoh and Valance are the only systems involved, apart from the final trip back to your station.
The recommended level is 29, the same as the other Ro Missionen in this storyline.

The resource reward is light for two fights, but the story reward is the real draw: this is the mission that brings Ro Mudd into your storyline.

Goon and the guards and ships in the other two missions all come in at about 200,351 strength, so one ship setup covers the whole group.
Tips
Bring a combat ship that can fight twice. There is no stop at your station between the blackmailer and Goon, only a flight from Valance back to Kuzukoh.
Keep the peace shield for when you need it. It is the one reward here you cannot produce yourself, and a full day of protection is most useful saved for a stretch offline.
