The Meaning in the Message is a five-part Strange New Worlds chain that begins with distress calls in Tau Ceti and Valo and ends with a fight against the Q’Nuz and their Fay vessels in Gawen. Every part is recommended for level 34, with warp to complete between 24 and 27. The officer rewards are SNW M’Benga und SNW Sam Kirk shards in Part 2 and SNW Nyota Uhura shards in Part 4. It is a light chain: four ship fights, no donations, and a lot of hostile hunting early on.

The Meaning in the Message Part 1
Unusual volatility is spreading across the galaxy. You answer two distress calls, clear hostiles after each, and end the part by traveling to the Jen’rik system.
- Answer a distress call in Tau Ceti.

A symbolic linguistic pattern is turning up in the affected systems. You monitor Jen’rik, then hunt hostiles in Azati and Exchange Delta.

This is a story part with no fighting. You visit the Lexsyn Institute in Angosia, meet a Professor of Mythology, pass Uhura’s findings to Pike and start searching the forest worlds of Gawen.

The Meaning in the Message Part 4
Die Enterprise is in trouble. From Gawen you send an emergency call to Pike, beat two Fay vessels around a beam-out of Uhura and Pike, and expel the Q’Nuz from the ship.

The Meaning in the Message Part 5
The finale takes the fight back to the Fay in Gawen. Two more Fay vessels go down before you deconstruct the Fay and return to Jen’rik.

Tips for completing The Meaning in the Message
Parts 1 and 2 are mostly hostile hunting: two rounds of 10 hostiles of level 33 or higher in Part 1, then two rounds of 10 hostiles of level 34 or higher in Part 2. That is 40 kills before the story really starts, so bring a ship that clears hostiles quickly.
The ship fights are all against Fay vessels in Gawen, listed at about 419,000 strength each. Parts 4 and 5 have two of them apiece, so repair between the fights.
Warp barely changes. The chain needs warp 27 at most (Part 2), and Parts 3 and 4 only need warp 24.
Nothing in the chain asks for a donation or payment, so you do not need to stockpile Ressourcen before starting.
Are the The Meaning in the Message rewards worth it?
It is worth running if you collect Strange New Worlds Offiziere, since three of them drop across Parts 2 and 4. The resource side is solid too, with about 2.25 million Tritanium, 455,000 Dilithium, 516,000 Parsteel and 1,400 Latinum, plus a Relocation Token.
