Temporal Contamination is an early story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 4. Geordi La Forge comes back with news about Maia, your station’s AI: she is not an ordinary construct, and she may exist outside time. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, has no fight, and pays 500 Parsteel. Its value is story: it explains where Maia came from and leads into Explore the Strange and the New.
Temporal Contamination objectives
There are three objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with Geordi La Forge.
- Help Geordi to demonstrate the chroniton field.
- Review the Daten at the Station.
Geordi asks you to fly out and meet him rather than come to the station. He explains that he found Maia in a database on your station after receiving a message from her, a message she has not sent yet. Maia was built by this timeline’s Montgomery Scott and left dormant for you to find. A chroniton imaging scan of Maia gives erratic results, which Geordi reads as proof that she exists outside time and might be able to reach other times and realities. Back at the station, his data backs up the story and includes schematics that match an artifact you found. Maia plans to contact Scotty for answers.

No pickup system or location is listed, and warp is 1 to start and finish. The meeting with Geordi is close to your station, and the last step happens on the station itself. The recommended level is 4.
There is no combat and no required donation.
Temporal Contamination rewards
The only reward is 500 Parsteel. Completing the mission unlocks Explore the Strange and the New, which asks you to build the Research and Development building.
Temporal Contamination and the next mission
Both missions sit at recommended level 4 and need only warp 1. Temporal Contamination pays 500 Parsteel; Explore the Strange and the New pays 10 Dilithium and is about construction rather than story, so this is the better payout of the two.

This is a quick story step. Any ship can make the trip, and none of the three objectives needs combat or Ressourcen.
