Lean is a short Klingon-border mission built around one decision. You pick it up in Gya’han, where a Qlj’ej Initiative merchant needs persuading to keep spying for you, and completing it takes you out to warp 40. One path hands you 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens and 437,000 Dilithium for winning a fight. The other asks you to give up 1.5M Dilithium for refined Erze. For most players the fight is the better deal by a wide margin.
Lean objectives
The mission runs two steps before it branches.
- Threaten the Qlj’ej merchant in Gya’han.
- Choose how to deal with the merchant. This is the choice split, and the two paths differ in both what you do and what you get.
Path 1: eliminate the interceptor
- Eliminate the Qlj’ej Initiative’s Interceptor in Gya’han. The target sits at roughly 1,426,536 strength.
Path 2: pay the merchant off
- Donate 1.5M Dilithium.
You commit to one path when you make the choice, so read the reward table below before you click.
Wo und welcher Warp
Everything happens in Gya’han. The mission opens at warp 1, which puts it inside reach almost immediately, but finishing it requires warp 40. That gap is the real gate on Lean: the pickup is trivial, the completion is not. If your warp range tops out under 40, the mission sits in your log until you push your ship’s warp higher.
Because both the merchant and the interceptor are in the same system, there is no travel between objectives once you arrive. One trip out covers the whole mission.
Lean rewards
| Path | What you do | Belohnungen |
|---|---|---|
| Path 1 | Destroy the Qlj’ej Initiative Interceptor | 800 Ultra Recruit Token, 437,000 Dilithium |
| Path 2 | Donate 1.5M Dilithium | 13 3★ Seltene Refined Ore, 50 3★ Uncommon Refined Ore |
The two payouts are not close. Path 1 adds 437,000 Dilithium to your stores and throws in 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, the currency you spend on officer recruitment pulls. Path 2 costs 1.5M Dilithium and returns 63 pieces of 3★ refined ore. Counting the Dilithium alone, the swing between the two choices is close to 2M in your favor if you fight.
Path 2 only makes sense in one situation: your ships cannot beat a 1.4M-strength interceptor and you have Dilithium to spare. Refined ore has its uses, and clearing the mission unblocks whatever comes after it in your log. Paying is a legitimate exit, just an expensive one.
Tips
Check your warp before you plan anything. Warp 40 is the number to hit, and it decides whether Lean is a fifteen-minute job or something you shelve for later.
For the fight, bring a ship that outclasses 1.4M strength rather than one that merely matches it. Hull matchups swing STFC combat hard, and interceptors take extra damage from Schlachtschiffe, so a battleship crewed for damage is the straightforward answer. Repair before you jump. Gya’han is Klingon-border space, and an unrepaired hull turns a comfortable win into a tow home.
If you are set on Path 2, bank the full 1.5M Dilithium before you accept the choice. Getting halfway through a donation and running dry leaves the mission stalled while your Dilithium sits locked up.
Players holding a Dilithium surplus and short on officer shards should still take the fight. Ultra Recruit Tokens are the harder currency to come by of the two rewards, and 800 of them from a single interceptor kill is a strong rate.
