Sarcophagus Panzerkreuzer

The Sarcophagus is a grade 3 Epic Battleship in the Independent faction, and it is built for one job: winning Territory Capture Takeovers. Its Close-Quarters Combat ability lifts weapon damage by a huge amount while the ship fights on a capture or mining node, and it routes almost all incoming fire onto its very large hull instead of shields. You unlock the build at Shipyard level 30. Away from a Takeover node it is an ordinary grade 3; on one, it punches well above its grade.

How to get the Sarcophagus

Building the Sarcophagus takes 80 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 30. Once you have the blueprints and the shipyard level, the build cost is 1,400,000 Tritanium, 82,500 Dilithium, 250 3★ Common Refined Crystal, and 1,000 3★ Common Refined Ore. The build runs 19 days 10 hours. The game Daten does not tie the blueprints to a single event or store, so treat them as something you collect over time rather than grab from one place.

Sarcophagus ability

The ship ability is Close-Quarters Combat, and like all ship abilities it is always on. When the Sarcophagus attacks or defends on a capture or mining node during an active Takeover, its weapon damage goes up by 86,000% at ship level 1, rising to 250,000% at level 60. The same ability changes how damage lands: the ship’s shields take only 10% of incoming damage instead of the usual 80%, so the rest falls on the hull. The Sarcophagus carries no shield pool at all, which is why its hull is so oversized. The catch is that none of this applies outside a Takeover node fight, so the ship is a specialist and not a general brawler.

Sarcophagus active ability

The Sarcophagus also has a player-triggered ability, Ship Tarnung, which you unlock through a refit (see below). When active, the ship is cloaked; the cloak ends when its duration runs out, when you enter combat, when you begin mining, or when you dock at a station. It runs on a cooldown that shortens as the ship tiers up. In practice you use it to slip toward a contested node without being seen, then drop cloak and open the node fight on your terms.

Stats and tiers

Base values from the current game data; research, buffs, and officers raise them in play. Shield HP reads zero at every tier because this ship tanks on its hull.

Ebene Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
1 2.7 / 31 80 10,000 (230) 0 123,243 61,621.5
6 3.2 / 48 80 22,560 (330) 0 273,007 136,503.5
12 3.8 / 100 80 84,000 (600) 0 387,163 193,581.5

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is how many rounds pass between shots after that. Values shown at max tier 12.

Waffe Typ Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Black Fleet Torpedo Kinetic 4 1 3 467–570 10% 150%
Black Fleet Torpedo Kinetic 4 1 3 467–570 10% 150%
Isogenic Cannon Energie 1 1 2 1,244–1,521 10% 150%
Isogenic Cannon Energie 1 1 2 1,244–1,521 10% 150%

The two Black Fleet Torpedoes are the volume weapons, firing four kinetic shots each on a short cycle. The two Isogenic Cannons fire once but hit much harder per shot with energy damage, so the ship mixes steady kinetic pressure with heavy energy spikes.

Crew slots and officer bonus

The Sarcophagus opens more bridge seats as it levels up.

The ship also raises the stats of the officers you seat on it. Attack, defense, and health all use the same ladder, so one figure covers all three. The bonus steps up as you invest in the ship.

Sarcophagus refits

The Sarcophagus has one refit, and it is the one that turns on the cloak.

Nachrüstung What it does
Sarcophagus Cloaking Enables the ship’s Ship Cloaking active ability. Costs 120 shards to unlock.

Crew for the Sarcophagus

Because this is a hull-tanking Battleship whose whole value shows up in node fights, the bridge you want is one that raises weapon damage and keeps the hull alive under fire, since the ability funnels almost all damage onto the hull. Captain picks that boost your weapon output pair well with officers that add hull mitigation or repair for a long Takeover fight. Meta crews change often, so check the Officer Tier List for current recommendations rather than locking in one lineup.

The Sarcophagus in Star Trek

The Sarcophagus is real screen canon. It is the flagship of T’Kuvma, leader of the Klingon House of the same name, in Star Trek: Discovery. The hull is covered with the coffins of Klingon warriors collected over centuries, a floating monument to the dead that gives the ship its name. It sits at the center of the Battle of the Binary Stars in 2256, the clash that reopened war between the Klingon Empire and the Föderation. In the game it is framed as a holy ship of the Empire, now in the hands of House T’Kuvma and meant to carry the Klingons to victory.

Star Trek Fleet Command Sarcophagus

Is the Sarcophagus worth it?

The Sarcophagus is a specialist, so the answer depends on how you play. If you take part in Territory Capture and fight over Takeover nodes, it is a strong grade 3 pick that hits far above its class inside that mode. If you do not touch node warfare, its ability does nothing for you and a general-purpose ship serves you better. Worth knowing before you commit: the Sarcophagus cannot be scrapped, so it will not feed parts into a later hull. Chase it if you fight for territory; skip it if you do not.
