Risk Factor is a Romulan storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you deal with the remaining Nausicaan mercenaries. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 18 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. After meeting Rihala on Rosec, you choose to destroy the mercenaries or agree to break Braak out of prison. Destroying them pays refined Erze and speed ups. Breaking Braak out pays Romulanisch Recruit Tokens and Officer XP. Both unlock Repeat Business.
Risk Factor objectives
The shared opening has two objectives:
- Meet Rihala on Rosec. Location: Rosec.
- Decide to help or kill the Nausicaan mercenaries.
Choice A: destroy the Nausicaan mercenaries
- Defeat 16 hostiles of level 22 or higher.
- Defeat the Nausicaan Mercenary. Location: Rosec. Enemy strength is roughly 293,839.
- Kehren Sie zu Ihrer Station zurück.
Rewards: 500 3★ Gemeinsame Refined Ore, 27 1 Hour Speed Up, 100 Romulan Credits, 1,000 Romulan Points, -576 Föderation Points.
Choice B: agree to break Braak out of prison
- Find the Starfleet penal ship. Location: Earorfilad.
- Defeat the escort. Location: Earorfilad. Enemy strength is roughly 44,970.
- Disable the penal vessel. Location: Earorfilad.
- Take Braak to Nausicaa Prime. Location: Nausicaa.
Rewards: 250 Romulan Recruit Token, 57,000 Officer XP, 100 Romulan Credits, 1,000 Romulan Points, -576 Federation Points.
The two paths are very different in effort. Choice A needs 16 kills plus a mercenary of about 293,839. Choice B’s only listed fight is an escort of about 44,970, less than a sixth of that.
Wo und welcher Warp
The mission is available from warp 1 and needs warp 18 to complete. Rosec is where it starts. Choice A stays around Rosec, while Choice B takes you to Earorfilad in Federation space and then to Nausicaa.
The recommended level is listed as 1. On Choice A the Nausicaan Mercenary is the real test; on Choice B the escort is a much lighter one.

Either choice unlocks the next mission, Repeat Business.
Tips
Pick by what you need and what you can fight. Choice A pays 27 hours of speed ups and a pile of refined ore but asks for 16 kills and a strong mercenary. Choice B pays recruit tokens and Officer XP for a much lighter fight and some extra travel.
The faction points are identical on both paths, so they should not sway the decision.
If you take Choice A, farm the 16 kills anywhere. The objective names no system, only a level floor of 22.
The next mission, Repeat Business, needs warp 17, asks you to bring a data forger to Novix, and pays 7,000 Dilithium plus Romulan Credits and Points. The mission before Risk Factor is Wiedereinschaltung.
